Things are about to get messy for the estate of late Youtube star Messy Mya, most widely known for his vocal inclusion on Beyonce‘s controversial top 5 hit ‘Formation’ (2016).

According to Mya’s family, Bey snatched the vocal clip without their permission and made millions without compensating them.  Their response?  An 8-figure lawsuit.

After soaring all up, through, and across Houston’s NRG Stadium at last Sunday’s Super Bowl 51, Lady Gaga has taken similar flight on sales and streaming formats.

Seeing her latest effort, ‘Joanne,’ jump to #1 on iTunes album charts just an hour after her set finished, its latest single – ‘Million Reasons’ – mirrored the move by moseying to the perch of the iTunes singles charts (click here to read more).

Now, analysts are trying to forecast how those numbers will translate to Hot 100 and Billboard 200 placements.  And, if their predictions are on the money, Gaga will be making a serious shakeup on next weeks charts.

In a move that comes as a surprise to many (given that most thought it was already the case), Billboard announced last week that Pandora streaming data will be used to calculate chart placements.

Joining stats that are comprised of digital sales, Spotify streams, Tidal Streams, Soundcloud streams, Youtube streams, radio airplay, and more, the incorporation of Pandora info will provide a truer representation of consumer interests given the platform’s rank in the streaming arena. Pandora co-founder, Tim Westergren, echoes the sentiment:

“Pandora is now the No.1 radio station in 87 US markets and represents roughly 10 percent [of] all radio listening. With the inclusion of Pandora data, the Billboard charts that have guided listeners and been so central to the music industry for decades now reflect a truer measure of a song’s popularity today. I’m thrilled that the ‘Pandora effect’ will now be formally recognized in the industry’s gold standard for measurement.”

But, there’s a catch:

Chance the Rapper‘s latest clip may be filled with Muppets and the like, but trust us, that hardly makes it kid-friendly.

The supporting video for ‘Same Drugs,’ the latest single lifted from his critically acclaimed mixtape ‘Coloring Book,’ sees the rapper take it old school for a vintage-inspired visual.  Simple, yet effective.

Just when you thought Lady Gaga fans didn’t have enough reason to rejoice reports indicate Mother Monster has given her faithful followers yet another reason to put their paws up!

Earlier today we reported preliminary figures that indicated the game itself (Patriots v. Falcons) had amassed a whopping 113 million viewers (across all formats) over its historic course.  Those figures, however, did not include the then unknown spike or decline in viewership during the halftime show.  In fact, it wasn’t until Madonna’s epic touchdown of a halftime show in 2012 that the viewership during the halftime show saw increase.

Well, if the final ratings reports are to be believed, it looks like Gaga has kept that new tradition alive in a big way.  Tuck in to see how many tuned in to see her crank out hits ‘Just Dance,’ ‘Telephone,’ and more:

All roads lead to February 17th for newcomer Jidenna.

Since bursting onto the mainstream scene with ‘Classic Man’ in early 2015, the eclectic artist has been building buzz – both as a solo act and as part of Janelle Monae‘s Wondaland collective.

We must say that the release date does seem a little close and has seemingly appeared out of thin air.

But, with getting an album into stores proving a tall task for even the most established of acts, we won’t be complaining. And we doubt Jidenna will be either.

Head below for a sample of what the Nigerian-American star’s LP will be serving up…
