Seemingly gearing up for the end of the Fox series ‘Empire‘, the last year has seen the actress step into several roles designed to showcase the skill her role as Cookie may not necessarily demand.

One of these roles can be found in the movie ‘Hidden Figures’ which will impact movie-goers on Christmas day.

Another?

Grammy-winning crooner John Legend may be on a high celebrating news of his headlining gig at next year’s NBA All-Star game halftime show (as well as his most recent top 10 R&B album, ‘Darkness & Light’),  but -as a recent interview reveals – the singer isn’t exactly celebrating the headline grabbing antics of longtime friend Kanye West.

Legend, a noted community activist and commentator on political affairs, has long used his platform to express his disdain for the soon-to-be-inaugurated Trump administration.  So, to the surprise of few, he minced no words when quizzed on his thoughts about West’s recent visit to Trump Tower:

“I’m pretty disappointed with Kanye that he says he would have voted for Trump. I think Trump has been corrosive, his message has been corrosive to the country. I think the things he’s promised to do have been very concerning for a lot of people, and for Kanye to support that message is very disappointing.” – John Legend

Authenticity.

It’s a trait rarely sewn into the fabric of todays new talent; many of whose success is the end product of a Fordist production line.

For trio Thirdstory though, being organic is ingrained in their artistic DNA and has consequently won them a mass following the globe over. And the support is growing.

Honing in on power of the internet, the group – comprised of Ben, Richard, and Elliott – uploaded cover after soulful cover; in the process creating the perfect storm of anticipation for their own material.

With their debut album due in 2017 and current single ‘G Train (ft. Pusha T)’ making all the right noise, we caught up with member Richard to discuss their rise, artistry, and takeover plans.

Our discussion came on the heels of two sold-out dates in London.
