Lady Gaga fans are all sorts of split over the singer’s latest video ‘Million Reasons.’
Unveiled yesterday, some saluted the clip was saluted for its simplicity, while most slammed it for being disappointing. Especially given the star’s history as a visual artist.
Whatever side of the fence one sits on, it appears ‘Reasons’ and predecessor ‘Perfect Illusion’ are puzzle pieces of a bigger picture.

Speaking on Snapchat, the 30-year-old told fans:
“This video picks up right where the Perfect Illusion video left off…and..each (‘Joanne’) video after will do the same”

For her sake, whatever she’s serving up next time needs to slay hard enough to make us forget the clips she’s released so far this era.
To see a visual artist effectively divorce herself from her core point of appeal is as jarring as it is sad.
Sure ‘Joanne’ is an opinion-splitter, but that’s almost inconsequential in today’s age. People want to be excited be what they “see” just as much if not more than what they hear.
It’s clear Gaga is trying (and hasn’t yet succeeded) to strike the balance between the expectations born out of past eccentricities and her present air of refined.
Hopefully, she finds that sweet spot sooner rather than later.

She just needs to end this era and start all over again…or just go tour, which i think she will announce after the superbowl. THE VIDEO FOR MILLION MILLON REASONS WAS LIKE A COPE AND PASTE OF DIFF IMAGES….THE SONG ITSELF IS VERY CLOSE TO BEING BORING AND THE VIDEO DOES NOT HELP EITHER. Tbh .. The video for MR looked like she recycled the Apple Music ad and promo photoshoots.

Everything except the live performances this era has been so underwhelming.
She should just re-release Joanne with new songs and visuals that fit each song.

I’m the only one who thinks that a type of G.U.Y. video is not for this era, they keep asking for a visual masterpiece but that just won’t fit with any song on the album.

I don’t even like Beyonce but artiste like Beyonce etc stay relevant because they maintain an aura of mystique… People are interested when you do not shade it all off. Gaga stripped herself of every ounce of dignity and mystique and now it has backfired… No one is interested because they have seen it all, she has talents ,she might recover some of her career but it will never be like before.
I was so disappointed with M.R video I love that song but the vid was just terrible , first the acting so really bad good luck to her for star is born 2nd I just didn’t get it it made no sense . Million reasons video was a let down I’m totally disappointed . She should just let it go and come harder cuz the boredom is real..
So true, one day you’re at the top and the next day you are a nobody. Her biggest fail, is not being able to fool the general public, she wants us to forget all her stunts and gimmicks and pretend she is Adele, but it’s so insincere and phony.
Give me A-Yo or John Wayne….her performances of both of those songs on the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show slayed me.
Her lives performances have been great this era. She’s done the album justice. -as far as the videos; i agree. They haven’t been the blockbusters we expect from her and that’s what the main fans want.

I haven’t watched the Million Reasons video yet. Maybe I’ll find a phuq. MR isn’t a bad song, but she’s not at a point in her career where she can make a hit out of a run of the mill ballad. With her new stripped down image, which differentiates her from her former image but not from the pack, she needs undeniable smashes.
Lemonade gave us a breathtaking view of a very REAL and honest Beyonce, with symbolism and mysticism…Jonas Akerlund helped direct it…he directed Telephone and Paparazzi…isn’t that what Joanne is trying (so hard) to do for Gaga? Isn’t she trying to be real? Well, real doesn’t have to be bland, boo boo…she wrote Angel Down about Trayvon Martin…let’s see THAT visual…BOOMKACK Gaga would have sashayed right through that controversy…but NO, Joanne would rather be Adele now…I remember 21 slaying alongside a girl morphed into a motorcycle on the album cover…now, 25 is snatching Joanne’s tired, overused pink hat…
The few comments always repeating the era is done are truly desperate. Not when Million Reasons keep visiting the top10 on itunes despite not being big on radio and not when teh album has sold as much as supposed hits like “Anti” 🙂 And especially NOT when Superbowl is not far away. It´s killing these guys that despite the change of genre and the backlash from pop fans (who knows why) she still didn´t sell less than 100k copies first week like they wished and predicted (sold double) and that two months later the era is alive, she keeps being booked cause she has talent and she didn´t give up (as some others kind of did after being the victim of big backlash). Talent prevailed.
