If sales are anything to judge by fans obviously thought Frank Ocean‘s sophomore album, ‘Blond,’ was worth the wait.

For, as we reported here, the singer/songwriter was set to top the charts with the album moving an impressive 225,000-250,000 units.  However, with the full tracking week behind us, refreshed news indicates the project – released independently as an Apple Music exclusive – exceeded its forecasted figures by a handsome sum.

Billboard reports:

Frank Ocean earns his first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with the arrival of Blonde. The set, which was released on Aug. 20, bows atop the list with 276,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Aug. 25, according to Nielsen Music.

Blonde logs the third-largest debut of 2016, behind only the arrivals of Drake’sViews and Beyonce’s Lemonade.  Of Blonde’s start of 276,000 units, 232,000 were in traditional album sales, while the rest were SEA (44,000 units).

Only two albums started bigger than Blonde in 2016: Drake’s Views (1.04 million units earned in its debut frame) and Beyonce’s Lemonade (653,000). Blonde also logs the third-biggest sales start — behind, again, just Views (852,000 copies sold in its first week) and Lemonade (485,000).”

While the Billboard 200 run of Drake‘s latest album, ‘Views,’ is by no means anything to shake a stick it, the Hot 100 runs of the songs that line its tracklisting are nothing less than historic.

As if notching 20 simultaneous Hot 100 hits wasn’t enough, the crooning emcee is currently reigning with the longest consecutive top 10 run of any male artist in history.  After last month saw him best fellow Canadian hitmaker, The Weeknd’s, impressive 45 week run over 2015-16, this week – as his song ‘One Dance’ slips to #8 – the Young Money maestro notched his 50th (yes, count ’em) consecutive week in the top 10.

The accomplishment not only extends his reign as the male artist with the most consecutive weeks in the tally’s top 10, but it puts him in second place overall (behind Katy Perry‘s whopping 69 consecutive week run at the turn of the decade).

Until we find out if he’ll be beating Miss Perry, tuck in below to find out all of your other favorites landed on this week’s refreshed Hot 100:

With the ‘Purpose’ album, Justin Bieber made a credibility play that paid all the way off.

The set, which spurned hits such as ‘Sorry’ and ‘What Do Mean?’ saw the former teen singer complete his transition into an adult force.

Still, it seems the 22-year-old is still on the hunt for cool points. Case in point his cover choices on his BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge performance today.

Surprisingly, the Canadian crooner decided to try his hand at Tupac‘s ‘Thugz Mansion’ and Tracy Chapman‘s classic ‘Fast Car.’

How did he fare? Find out below…
