M.I.A hit headlines this week after dropping out of the Afropunk Festival in London.

The rapper had come under fire from supporters of the #BlackLivesMatter movement, which she scathingly criticized in an interview.

Clearly feeling the pressure from their draggings and synonymous calls for her to be axed from the line-up, the 38-year-old announced her departure from the Sept 24th extravaganza.

Yet, in an interesting move, organisers have asserted that she will be performing. They have also issued a statement addressing the controversy surrounding her comments.

Missy Elliott‘s unorthodox comeback campaign continues with the release of ‘Ghostbusters (I’m Not Afraid).’

The track, which sees the legendary femcee team up with Fall Out Boy, is the theme for the remake of the much-loved franchise (which lands in theaters July 15th).

Elliott’s presence on the cut comes after her explosive return to the scene with ‘WTF (Where They From)’ last year.

Anticipation remains sky-high for the star’s new album; yet in the time since ‘WTF’ she’s instead served up new material by way of endorsements and features.

After a false alarm with last year’s ‘L.A. Love,’ the ten year wait for fans of singer/rapper Fergie is finally about to come to a close courtesy of her new single ‘Hungry.’

A trap-pop tune, which some fans are already believing takes jabs at ‘the realest’ Iggy Azalea, is a daring, yet very welcomed departure for the Black Eyed Peas-frontwoman.  Spitting some serious fire over the bass-heavy track, ‘Hungry’ is set to be the first official release from her long-awaited sophomore effort, ‘Double Dutchess.’
