That Grape Juice were on hand at the 2016 BET Awards and so too were Kelly Rowland‘s new girl group June’s Diary.

Their appearance was fitting given that the five-piece were pieced together on hit BET series ‘Chasing Destiny.’

With season one wrapped, the soulful quintet have wasted no time servicing material to the masses.

Indeed, they used the ‘Awards platform to debut the video for their new single ‘L.A.N.C.E.’

Speaking with our girl Megan on the red carpet, the collective – comprised of Shyann, Kristal, Gabby, Ashly, and Brienna, spilled on their debut album.

Watch above as they reveal whether mentor Kelly will feature on the LP; they also perform an impromptu acapella of Drake‘s ‘Hotline Bling’ – which was all sorts of amazing.

If you’re still not sold on ‘blackSUMMERS’night,’ the July 1-due new album from Grammy winning crooner Maxwell, ‘Fingers Crossed’ just may do the trick for you.

Following the release of the album’s lead single ‘Lake By the Ocean,’ ‘Fingers’ joins ‘Gods,’ ‘1990x,’ and ‘All the Ways Love Can Feel’ as yet another taste of what Max is serving up via his first project in nearly 7 years.

The dreaded “sophomore slump” – the career hurdle that’s caused the fall of a number of music history’s most promising acts – currently stands to add Grammy-nominated rapstress Iggy Azalea to its  lengthy list of casualties.

Azalea, who didn’t exactly experience “overnight success” in her transition from virtual unknown to one of rap’s leading ladies, did see her career go from 0-100 (real quick) after her participation on Ariana Grande‘s horn-filled hit ‘Problem’ and the release of her own history-making single ‘Fancy.’ But, with the triumphs of both singles came the real “problem“:  replicating their successes.

The endeavor would be doused with degrees of difficulty as the saucy Aussie’s public profile rang as the exact antithesis of her Billboard chart story.  Indeed, fielding attacks from the likes of Nicki Minaj, Q-Tip, Azealia Banks, Snoop Dogg, and even fellow Caucasian rappers Eminem and Macklemore, the court of public opinion joined them in finding Azalea guilty of cultural misappropriation and inauthenticity.  The effects of the verdict would be manifested in poor ticket sales for her headlining arena tour and fuel its cancellation (reportedly due to shifting focus to her debut album’s follow-up).

Engaged lovers Ciara and Russell Wilson looked all sorts of smitten with one another last night at a Washington fundraiser.

Wilson, who hosted the charity event to raise money for the Seattle Children’s Hospital, was midway through a rendition of Michael Jackson‘s ‘The Way You Make Me Feel,’ when he invited his 30-year-old fiance on stage.

As any seasoned Beyonce enthusiast knows, her mother Tina Knowles-Lawson is not one to be messed with.

The seamstress turned fashion mogul has hit back at snide remarks from her daughter’s detractors. And it all surrounds Bey’s absence from the BET Awards following her opening performance.

As widely understood, the ‘Sorry’ songstress had to catch a flight immediately following her ‘Freedom’ rendition so as to make it in time for the UK launch of her ‘Formation World Tour.’

Mama Tina explained this when accepting two of her awards. Yet, it appears a small pocket of folk are taking her to task on the specifics.

KeKe Palmer‘s role in ‘Scream Queens’ is undoubtedly one of its main attractions and, as some will agree, one of the strongest points in her career thus far.

Alas, her efforts to be taken seriously as a full functioning musician are yet to yield the career her talent makes her deserving of.

So, as to remind fans of these efforts she has surprised them by releasing a never-before-heard album she recorded when she was 16 named ‘Waited to Exhale.’
