Quavo has paid impassioned tribute to his nephew and Migos bandmate Takeoff.

As reported, the 28-year-old was shot to death in the early hours of November 1 after a disagreement broke out at a party he attended in Houston.

Now, a day after the rapper’s funeral at the State Farm Arena in his hometown of Atlanta, Quavo (who was with him at the time of his death), has opened up about the shocking loss.

Music lovers were stunned Tuesday (November 1) at news former Migos star Takeoff had died after injuries sustained from a shooting in Houston.  The GRAMMY nominated star, born Kirshnik Khari Ball, was only 28-years-old.

With award show season in full swing, expect the year’s best and biggest in entertainment to be gearing up to grace the stages of annual staples to perform or accept some of the industry’s most coveted trophies.

The latest to unveil its highly anticipated list of nominees is the NBC & E! People’s Choice Awards.

Hosted by Kenan Thompson, the year’s list of leading musical nominees includes Bad Bunny (7), Harry Styles (6), Lizzo and Selena Gomez (5 apiece), and Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift (3 each).

They aren’t the only big names in the running for the night’s prized statuettes, however.

After a six-year absence, Rihanna returned to the music Friday morning (October 28) with the heartfelt ballad, ‘Lift Me Up.’

One of two songs from the GRAMMY winner set to line the soundtrack of the upcoming ‘Black Panther’ sequel, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,’ ‘Lift’ was written by Rih, ‘Panther’ director Ryan Coogler, Oscar winner Ludwig Göransson, and Nigerian superstar Tems as a tribute to late ‘Panther’ star Chadwick Boseman (who died from colon cancer in 2020).

Barely giving her dedicated fans, affectionately called the #Navy, time to catch their collective breaths, Rih has already lifted an ethereal accompanying music video for the touching tune.

Adidas has officially severed ties with embattled rapper Kanye West.

The sportswear giant and the MC have been in business together for several years and most notably launched the mega-selling Yeezy line.

However, in the wake of Ye’s seemingly unstoppable flow of offensive rhetoric, Adidas has dissolved the partnership.

The Rated Awards 2022 united a who’s who of the UK’s Urban scene to celebrate the biggest releases of the last year.

Toasting the British R&B, British Grime, and British Hip-Hop that has made this market one of the world’s most impactful, the GRM Daily ceremony was presided over by charismatic hosts Big Zuu and Julie Adenuga.

Dave stood tall as the big winner at the event (which took place at Magazine London). The revered MC took home four awards, including Male Artist of the Year and Track of the Year and Video of the Year for ‘Clash’ with Stormzy (pictured with him above).

An eclectic array of major names took to the stage for action-packed performances such as Ms. Banks, Ivorian Doll, ArrDee, Clavish, and  K-Trap.

That Grape Juice was on-hand and caught up with so many on the red carpet. Stay tuned for that!

The story of Emmett Till is one that continues to resonate almost 70 years on.

And with the arrival of the powerful new film ‘Till,’ it’s a narrative that will undoubtedly move the masses even more.

The MGM production chronicles the never-before-told story of Mamie Till-Mobley and her quest for justice after her teen son, Emmett, was brutally murdered in a racist attack. 

Directed by Chinonye Chukwu, ‘Till’ received its UK premiere at the BFI London Film Festival 2022 and was selected to central focus of the Mayor of London Gala.

That Grape Juice was on-hand at the launch and caught up with Danielle Deadwyler (who plays Mamie) and Jalyn Hall (Emmett), as well Tosin Cole and Chukwu. All of whom spoke to the necessity of the story, the change they hope it will spark, and the early Oscar buzz arounf the film.

TGJ’s Samuel Eni also had the honor of talking with Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, who also gushed about the potency of ‘Till.’
