Today, we return to 1993 to revisit ‘Six Degrees of Separation’, the Schepisi-directed drama starring Will Smith.

In it, Smith plays a con man named a young man named Paul who convinces a wealthy couple that he is the son of the actor Sidney Poitier.

Enamoured by his charm, wit and talent, the couple soon find themselves adopting him and welcoming him to their opulent lifestyle. Alas, it isn’t long before the truth emerges.

Beyonce‘s ‘Lemonade’ success is proving to be no quick fizz.

A chart-topper upon release three weeks ago, the set has established itself as a consistent force – both on the streaming and sales front.

The latter has seen the LP sweep up another 155k in the most recent US tracking week; a number which rises to 220k when factoring in Sales-Plus-Streaming.

Next week is shaping up to be another winning window for the project commercially.

Billboard’s planned Prince tribute with Madonna has not impressed certain corners of the late singer’s fanbase.

The Pop queen has been tapped to perform at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards and, as at writing, she’s the only act enlisted for the “unmissable” tribute at the May 22nd ceremony.

Angered, a supporter of the Purple one started a petition demanding an amendment to the mono Madge line-up. And it’s gaining traction.

From the cinematic (and critically divisive) ‘Bitch Better Have My My Money’ to the cool, calm and understated ‘Kiss It Better’, the project’s supporting visuals have gone a long way to tip sales and streams of the project over the 2 million units point in the United States.

Erykah Badu‘s has delivered a gift at the world’s front door this morning.

Its name? ‘Come See Badu‘, a remix of Drake and Party Next Door’s ‘Come See Me.’

Undeniably keen to introduce her sound to younger audiences, the singer/songwriter released ‘Badu’ after remixing Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling’ in 2015.

Competition within the streaming arena is heating up thanks to a series of major album exclusives.

For Jay Z’s TIDAL, it was the release of his wife Beyonce‘s ‘Lemonade’ LP that really positioned the platform as a plausible player.

The controversial project landed on the service first in the form of a stream and was released to retail 24 hours later. As at writing, it remains a TIDAL-only property on the streaming front.

Today, data released by the service, unveiled just how profitable said moves have been.

This week, before details about the set emerge, the starlet re-emerged in Los Angeles at NYLON and BCBGeneration’s Annual Young Hollywood May Issue Event.

There, she rubbed shoulders with ‘America’s Next Top Model’ winner Carlos King, Justine Skye and the R&B singer JoJo.

It’s for this exact reason that his grilling at the hands of Wendy Williams today made for such a compelling watch.

All roads lead to next Friday for Ariana Grande.

For, following a number of twists and turns, her third studio album ‘Dangerous Woman’ struts into stores on May 20th.

Beyond a push for the LP’s title track, the project’s campaign has been somewhat confusing. Indeed, it’s been difficult to decipher if Team Ari are trying to gain traction with the countless songs that have come out or instead showcase what the album has on offer as a body of work.

Thankfully, much of what we’ve heard has been stellar – a trajectory that continues with Future collaboration ‘Everyday.’
