As far as entertainment industry siblings go, few can boast being as close as Brandy and Ray J.

Having spent most of their lives working as singers and actors, the two have made no secret of their bond over the years – a status doubled down on by their frequent joint projects and regular praise of each other for career and personal wins.

That’s why it’s no surprise B-Rocka was among the many who sent Ray supportive messages this week after he stunned his 2.8 million Instagram followers by taking to the platform to post messages indicating he was threatening self-harm.

Ayra Starr and Kelly Rowland have unlocked a special performance video for their remix of ‘Bloody Samaritan.’

The flavorsome jam, in its solo form, served as the world’s introduction to the Nigerian-born starlet. And it’s proving to be the gift that keeps giving.

Ayra and Kelly’s collaborative incarnation of ‘Samaritan’ will appear on the incoming deluxe edition of her critically-acclaimed debut album ’19 & Dangerous’ (due October 14).

The 20-year-old said of working with the GRAMMY winner:

“I’ve always been a huge fan of Kelly Rowland and when this came up, I could barely keep in the excitement! While recording this, Kelly made me feel so comfortable and relaxed, something I really appreciate. She was super amazing.”

Even while shopping.

Case in point her weigh-in on the seemingly daily feuds erupting between many female rappers of late on social media.

Specifically, on the mind, it appears, was this week’s spar between Cardi B and JT from the City Girls.

As reported, the ladies locked horns and jabs flew like fireworks on the 4th of July.

The shenanigans saw various fan groups roped into the fray and Cardi and foe Nicki Minaj (who appeared to make her opinions known, albeit subtly) engage in clear back-and-forth.

The 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards kicked off Tuesday night (October 4) with a reboot of the network’s former Rap exclusive music video show, ‘Rap City.’

Helmed by its longtime host Big Tigger, the special edition showing featured interviews with G Herbo, Rapsody, Remy Ma, and Rap Queen Lil Kim.

The latter, who made headlines for recently hitting the studio with Cardi B after deeming the ‘Bodak Yellow’ beauty the princess of Rap, took to the platform to continue showering praise on the GRAMMY winner.

Social media remains in an uproar after Kanye West‘s Yeezy Paris Fashion Week Show on Monday (October 3) saw the controversial rapper unveil a new line of custom tee shirts with the phrase “White Lives Matter” printed on them.

Rocked by fellow celebrities Candace Owens, Selah Marley (daughter of Lauryn Hill and Bob Marley‘s son Rohan), and others, the shirts garnered quite the backlash despite West’s attempt to classify them as “revolutionary art.”

Hours after the GRAMMY winner took to the net to defend the Yeezy tees as a response to the “scam” that was the Black Lives Matter movement (as we reported here), Selah has done the same.

SZA‘s sophomore album is as notable for its ongoing absence as it is for the undoubtable excitement that surrounds it.

The appetite for the follow-up to 2017’s ‘CTRL’ has been palpable by way of the seismic success of preceding singles ‘Good Days’ and ‘I Hate U’ – both of which became SZA’s first and second solo top 10’s respectively on the Billboard Hot 100.

With the LP promised to be “coming soon,” the songbird poses it up in the latest issue of Complex Magazine and opened up about the process of crafting her long-awaited new project.

Season 14 of the ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ brought with it yet another return for franchise original Sheree Whitfield. 

And this go round, much of her focus centered on finally bringing her infamously elusive athleisure line –  She By Sheree – to the marketplace 14 years (and many a “Spring, Summer, September”) since it was first announced.

The season’s finale saw Whitfield successfully pull off a fashion show (with actual fashions, this time), while the concluding installment of the 3-part reunion saw the 52-year-old gift her castmates with items from the line.

However, RHOA’s Drew Sidora – who Whitfield locked horns with over the season – has gone on record to state that all is not as it seems.

After 7 years of imparting his unmistakable brand of comedic commentary on everything from political happenings, Pop culture, social issues, and more as host of Comedy Central’s ‘The Daily Show,’ comedian Trevor Noah announced Thursday (September 29) he is bidding the show adieu.
