Zayn had joined forces with singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson for the pair’s new track ‘To Begin Again.’

The soulful ballad was originally released in March and it sheds light on the importance of remaining hopeful in the face of uncertainty. Now, the video for the track echoes that sentiment.

In it, the clip offers a snapshot of everyday people in New York City. It reminds viewers that the past year has been hard on everyone; however, we are all in this together.

Zayn is back with new music.

For, the singer has just released the song ‘To Begin Again’ with singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson. The ballad is a snapshot of the moment a couple decides to rekindle their romance following a near-apocalypse.

Across the track, they sing:

When the world was ending / I’d hold you in my arms / And we talked about the places we’d never been / When the world was ending / We’d hold on to the past / Because it’s all we thought that we would ever see.

The new song arrives months after Zayn released his latest album ‘Nobody Is Listening’ (stream it here).

Zayn hasn’t been the fondest of the spotlight since setting sail on his solo journey, avoiding both performances and interviews.

Yet, he was particularly outspoken moments ago in what appears to be a random rant about… the GRAMMYs.

After the #61 debut and peak of ZAYN‘s sophomore album on the Billboard 200, 2018’s ‘Icarus Falls,’ his fans were undoubtedly concerned about how its follow-up – ‘Nobody is Listening’ – would fare given it lacked even less promotion than its predecessor.

What’s more, his junior effort – announced just a week ahead of its January 15 released date – had garnered little buzz from the record-buying public at large by the time it arrived to digital shelves, a feat underscored by the nonperformance of its singles ‘Better’ (#89 Hot 100 Peak) and ‘Vibez’ (uncharted as of time reported).

By the time industry analysts weighed in with their first-week commercial forecast, fears were affirmed low anticipation for the set would negatively impact its inaugural sales figures.

ZAYN may have been the second member of One Direction to pursue solo success after the quintet’s disbandment, but he was the first to earn major success on both the Hot 100 and Billboard 200.

In early 2016, the singer made history when his solo debut single, ‘Pillow Talk,’ and its parent album, ‘Mind of Mine,’ both debuted at No. 1 on the their respective charts – a feat he replicated in his native U.K. to become the first British male artist to premiere atop tallies on both sides of the pond.

The response to his inaugural effort seemed to have signaled promising commercial performances in the future, but his follow-up album, 2018’s ‘Icarus Falls,’ evinced such was not the case.

Fans hoping his third swing at bat, the January 15-released ‘Nobody is Listening,’ would be just the catalyst needed to return the 28-year-old to his former chart glory will likely be disheartened to learn the 11-track project is set to inadvertently live up to its namesake.

New dad Zayn Malik not only spent the final quarter of 2020 celebrating the birth of his first child with girlfriend Gigi Hadid but also birthing the new music set to line his highly anticipated third studio album (as we reported here).

Courtesy of singles ‘Better’ and ‘Vibez’ (click here to listen), the 28-year-old kicked off his latest era ‘Nobody is Listening’ – the first of new official music since his Gold-certified sophomore album, ‘Icarus Falls’ (2018).

While ‘Falls’ failed to live up to the Platinum success of its predecessor, 2016’s Platinum-certified ‘Mind of Mine,’ it did at least manage to nab multiple Billboard Hot 100 charting efforts – including the top 50 hit ‘Dusk Till Dawn’ (featuring Sia).  To date, the ‘Nobody is Listening’ era can’t even boast as much with its highest charting release coming thanks to the #89 peak of ‘Better.’

Zayn‘s forthcoming third album, ‘Nobody is Listening,’ may have served as an inadvertent prediction for the singer’s last single ‘Better’ as the tune barely cracked the Hot 100 (peaking at #89 in Fall 2020).

Looking to change the tide a week ahead of the LP’s January 15-release, the former One Directioner is inviting fans to check out another of the project’s cuts – ‘Vibez.’

“Don’t keep me waiting / I’ve been waiting all night to get closer / And you already know I got it for ya,” he croons on the seductive mid-tempo. “You know the vibes, know the vibez / Put it on ya / If we’re moving too fast, we could slow up / Baby, this far from mediocre, no / You got the vibez, got the vibez.”
