Over two-and-a-half years have separated fans of Zayn Malik from his chart-topping debut album, ‘Mind of Mine,’ but that wait is set to come to an end a lot sooner than some may think.

Despite the singles that have led up to the announcement of his long-awaited sophomore project lacking the buzz of his inaugural solo single, ‘Pillow Talk,’ Malik’s had no shortage of attempts to gain momentum for the LP courtesy of buzz tracks ‘Too Much’ (featuring Timbaland), ‘No Candle No Light’ (featuring Nicki Minaj), and many more.

As fans grew impatient for the tunes’ parent project, the singer/songwriter took to Instagram to not only announce the set will be in stores December 14th, but that it was well worth the wait with a whopping 27 songs lining its track list.

While some of the offerings from Zayn Malik‘s yet-titled sophomore album – the follow-up to 2016’s chart-topping ‘Mind of Mine’ – have managed to crack the top 20 on the U.K. side of the pond, Stateside the releases haven’t fared nearly as well.

Not even breaking into the top 40 on the Hot 100, none of the tunes (to date) have managed to drum up the buzz cuts found aboard his inaugural LP boasted.  That could all change thanks to ‘Too Much’ – Malik’s forthcoming release featuring superproducer Timbaland at the helm.

“Felt good, but now I feel bad. Like I know I can’t take it back. No there’s nothing I can say,” he sings over Timbo’s trademark stylings.  But, will it be enough to ignite genuine interest in the crooner’s soon-to-drop second album?

Will the third time be the charm for Z2 – the sophomore effort of pop crooner Zayn?

The bid for a chart-topping single saw his soaring, Sia-assisted ballad, ‘Dusk Till Dawn,’ peak in the UK chart’s top 5 while its follow-up, ‘Let Me,’ peaked at #20.  Neither fared nearly as well on US charts.

Now, conceptually picking up where ‘Dawn’ left off, the former ‘One Direction’ star has unveiled ‘Entertainer.’ A Drake-inspired breakup anthem, the 25-year-old unveils a not-so-family friendly music video (see: strippers) to assist the cut’s climb up charts.  Will it do the trick?
