The event, which was held at Cipriani in New York City, honored the likes of Lady Gaga (‘Woman of the Year’), Missy Elliott (‘Innovator Award’), and Fifth Harmony (‘Best Group’).

Set to air on Lifetime on December 18th, snaps from the action-packed spectacle have surfaced.

Whose fashion slayed? You be the judge?

Adele may be the name on everyone’s lips now, but if there is to be any other person we can say had ‘the best year ever,’ it would be The Weeknd.

The Canadian crooner not only topped the Hot 100 back-to-back with hits ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ and ‘The Hills,’ but also hoisted their parent album, ‘Beauty Behind the Madness,’ to equal height on the Billboard 200.  Making history as the first solo male artist to simultaneously top the Artist 100, Hot 100, and Billboard 200, his continued domination of the charts this week saw him add yet another history-making feat to a wildly growing list of accomplishments.

Find out what it is below:

Grammy winning music superstars Lionel Richie and Adele both took their respective megahits, ‘Hello,’ to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 over 30 years apart.  But, if what Richie reports is true, they may be sharing a spot on that very chart soon.

After a host of memes and Vine videos jokingly joined the two hits (like that seen above), the ‘Say You, Say Me’ singer says he was inspired to reach out to the diva’s team to coordinate a meeting.  That meeting could soon see the duo saying hello in a studio to cook up a new hit:

Readers of That Grape Juice know what avid music lovers we are – especially of hits past.

So, just as our retrospective features ‘From the Vault’ and ‘TGJ Replay’  allow us the chance to re-spin the gems and jams of yesterday of one artist, Chart Rewind – a variation of our current Retro Rewind assay – accedes salutes to an entire era of music history.

On this #FBF we’ll press play on ‘I’m Your Angel,’ the unlikely pairing of R&B bad boy R. Kelly and powerhouse vocalist Celine Dion.  Written and produced by Kelly, the touching tune – lifted from his chart-topping third studio album ‘R.’ – came as quite the unexpected departure from the power-pop ballads that lined Dion’s repertoire (see:  ‘My Heart Will Go On’ which dominated charts the year prior).  In Kelly’s case, the departure – while not as unexpected – was certainly a welcomed retreat from his standard sexualized fare.

Regardless, fans welcomed ‘Angel’ with open ears, arms, and wallets as the tune soared to #1 on the Hot 100 and enjoyed its second week on the perch this week in 1998 (and wasn’t dethroned until 5 weeks later by Brandy‘s ‘Have You Ever’).  Tuck in below for your flight down memory lane and see what other familiar faces you see lining the top 25 this week in 1998.

drake meek mill arrest thatgrapejuice

…and we thought the #Beyhive were the ones not to mess with!

It looks like Meek Mill is still being penalized for his infractions against Drake as the Canadian emcee’s fans have taken to the legal system to continue their assault.

As if an unforgiving Twitter dragging during the height of the rappers’ beef wasn’t enough, Mill may be headed back to jail all courtesy of some phone calls to prosecutors placed by Drizzy’s loyal followers.

August Alsina is celebrating the release of new album ‘This Thing Called Life’ today, but is still in the midst of a media storm following his less than tactful words for label Def Jam.

According to the crooner, an error saw the entire LP serviced to VEVO two days ahead of its release. Taking to Twitter upon learning of the occurrence via fans, the New Orleans native typed verbatim “f*ck you Def Jam.”

During a promotional visit to The Breakfast Club today, Alsina insisted that he “definitely meant them words” and elaborated on his frustration.

If sticking with the label is in his longterm plans, we still don’t feel he’s going about the whole episode the right way.

But, whatever the case, check out the interview after the jump…

Lil Kim is no stranger to turning heads. So, it’s little surprise that she sent tongues a’wagging last night as she arrived at a WE tv event.

The iconic rapper was snapped posing it up at the launch of the network’s newest show ‘Growing Up Hip-Hop,’ which took place at Haus in New York City.

A consistent topic of debate, we imagine Notorious K.I.M will once again be at the centre of conversation after yesterday’s appearance.

Whatever the case, we’re here for the music. As such, we just hope the New Year sees her hold true to her promise of a new album – preferably something with more bite than the material she’s been serving up since her release from prison…almost ten years ago.

Anyway, more pics below…

Hoping to take her mind off ‘ANTI’ album woes, Rihanna shone bright like a diamond last night in Los Angeles.

The sometimes singer hosted the 2nd Annual Diamond Ball in partnership with her charity The Clara Lionel Foundation.

Named after her grandmother, the organization works to improve the quality of life for communities globally in the areas of health, education, and arts.

To honor the cause, a who’s who of Hollywood stepped out to support the 27-year-old. Her mother and niece Majesty were also in attendance. [Notably, no one from the Roc Nation roster was photographed].

Snaps from the event, which took place at The Barker Hanger, below…
