Finally!

After details from the project surfaced in drips and drabs throughout the year, ‘X-Men: Apocalypse‘ has finally seen its very first trailer released.

The movie hits theatres on May 27th 2016 and marks the latest ‘X-Men’ release to receive the Brian Singer directorial treatment.

There’s more.

Storm is to be portrayed by the actress Alexandra Shipp who played Aaliyah in the late singer’s poorly-received ‘Lifetime’ biopic.

She’s no doubt hoping her latest foray into film fares better. For, a successful stint in ‘Apocalypse’ is likely to see her pick up the role again in future ‘X-Men‘ projects, following the footsteps of the actress Halle Berry who played the character for well over a decade.

With Berry’s help the Marvel film series has swept up $3 billion at the box office.

If only people stopped denying the fact that Storm being a darker skinned black woman is why she was such a powerful character. Colorism is running wild in Hollywood. So sad

Angela Bassett should have played storm. She’s so regal and after seeing her play the voodoo queen on American horror story, I was even more convinced.

OMG @credits yes I was just about to say the same thing!! I also think Naomi Campbell would look perfect as storm.

    Luptia should have played storm!!

She would have slayed as the punk era Storm with a lil afro mohican. The true Storm is supposed to have a Native accent too which I know she would have nailed.

Damn it Jennifer Lawrence is really the female film star of the last 4 years. She´s not even key in this franchise and they still put her in the trailer as much as the 2 or 3 leading actors.
I have to say she is really great. Despite being blockbusters, her performances in all the Hunger Games films has been very poignant (they had a great supporting cast too). Not often seen in blockbusters (meaning all the average Marvel movies for example).

She is a key characters tho in these prequel trilogy

Not as much as the main ones. Plus there is talk she´s not doing anymore movies for this franchise. What I meant is she´s not supposed to be the star of the show this time as she was in HG as a leading character.

Sigh MCU zombies already hating on the movies can’t wait for Apocalypse to slay civil war just like DOFP Slayed the f*** out the winter soldier

Marvel movies are the comic book movies I always enjoy less. Like there´s never real acting or depth. Jokes and constant effects. But I can not get invested. Too childish too. There is too much fanboy-ism out there but real critics put those films in their place.
With other I get either great acting (even in The Amazing Spiderman), great score or poignant story. I don´t know, something.

I’m coming to terms with the fact that hat we will never ever see a true storm outside of comics or cartoons…
