2024’s award season is in full swing, and GLAAD is the latest to make headlines for lifting the lid on news around their annual award show and its nominees.

Now in its 35th year, the two-night ceremony – set to take place in Los Angeles (March 14) and New York City (May 11) – is poised to continue its tradition of honoring “media for fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of LGBTQ people and issues.”

With over 300 nominees being recognized across 33 categories, look inside to see if the your favorite TV, music, and film projects from 2023 made the cut.

Award season is in full swing and the EE BAFTA Film Awards 2024 is unquestionably one of its most hotly anticipated ceremonies.

Celebrating achievements on the big screen both in Britain and globally, this year’s nominations bring with them major nods for homegrown films such as ‘Rye Lane,’ ‘The Color Purple’ stars Fantasia Barrino and Danielle Brooks, and ‘Rustin’ anchor Colman Domingo.

A reimagining of the 2005 film of the same name starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, the new ‘Smith’ – adapted into an eight-episode television show – tells the tale of a faux couple (portrayed by Donald Glover and Maya Erskine) paired by a spy agency to enter an undercover marriage.

In what morphs into an action-packed combination of romance and drama, the two find the mission/charade gets complicated when they develop real feelings for each other.

The ongoing beef between rappers Blueface and Soulja Boy may be treading into dangerous territory if the latest developments are any indication.

While the former is sitting through a six-month stint in jail for reportedly violating a probation assigned from a 2021 attack on a Los Angeles nightclub bouncer, he’s still managing to engage in fiery virtual fisticuffs with Soulja.

Those interactions have led the ‘Crank That’ hitmaker to crank his insults into overdrive – a circumstance that’s earning him jeers from a number of social media critics.

Having already reached #2 on R&B charts with her latest hit ‘Made for Me,’ singer-songwriter Muni Long is looking to hoist the Jermaine Dupri-produced tune to even higher Billboard heights with the unveiling of its official music video.

Directed by Trinidad James and Des Gray, the romantic and cinematic clip stars fellow R&B hitmaker Luke James and sees the GRAMMY-winning songstress devise a plan to make the perfect man.

“One look in my eyes, you know I’m lyin’, lyin’ / Body to body, skin to skin (I’m never gon’ love like this) / I’m never gon’ love like this again (again, yeah) / You were made for me (just for me),” Long croons in the sci-fi-inspired visual.

Jonathan Majors generated major buzz at the Sundance Film Festival last year with ‘Magazine Dreams.’ Indeed, such was the buzz around the film – which chronicled the layered life of a bodybuilder – that the actor was being touted for awards glory.

However, his arrest in the domestic assault case with ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari saw the film yanked from the release schedule.

And now, following Majors’ conviction on two of the four misdemeanor counts he faced, there are major developments with the title.

Usher is marching on with purpose and appreciation to the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show 2024.

And when he gets there, he’ll be waving the flag for R&B in a major way.

The icon covers a digital edition of Vogue Magazine and seized the moment to open up about the performance the world will be watching on February 11. 

Posing it up with model Carolyn Murphy, the 45-year-old offered up insights into what folk can expect from the 13-minute spectacle – which arrives just days after the release of his 9th studio album ‘Coming Home.’

Beyond a seismic celebration of R&B, Usher promises the showing will be a nod to his idols Michael Jackson and Prince – who headlined Halftime before him.
