Hailed by fans and critics alike; if the album’s #1 placing on US iTunes is anything to go by, it’s a sure-fire contender for the top  spot on the Billboard 200 next week.

So as to give the set an added push, the 24 year old stopped by ‘The Late Show With David Letterman’ last night to perform a two-song medley.

Yes, if the last year has taught to us anything, is that the aforementioned genre’s well publicized downturn can be attributed to the lack of ‘push’ behind it. Push, only a select few of its staples can say they are afforded.

For Def Jam’s Rihanna, recent years have seen chart topping become just as organic as breathing- scoring a mind blowing 8 US #1 singles since April 15th 2008.

Now, just months after her own chart arrival, it seems her ROC sister Rita Ora is following suit with her debut album ‘ORA‘. For, in what we’d say solidifies Roc Nation‘s status as one of Pop’s better oiled machines, both starlets have made major gains on iTunes today.

Despite voluntarily falling out of the public eye in recent months, ‘Skyfall’ singer Adele is still slaying charts with her sophomore effort ’21’ (released February 2011).  Featuring the hits ‘Rolling In the Deep’, ‘Someone Like You’, and ‘Set Fire To The Rain’, the chart topping set blazed through 2011’s competition with repeated record-breaking runs atop the Billboard 200.

Fast forward a year later and it appears she is still finding her name in running with 2012’s biggest sellers. For, today saw Itunes unveil its year-end chart – tallying the year’s most downloaded albums.  Guess who’s number 1….

As previous reports indicated, Tamar Braxton has stormed charts with her new single ‘Love & War’ – battling her way to the top of Itunes charts on both sides of the pond.

Now, in news certain to delight #Tamartians, the songstress is now #1 on the chart ranking.  A feat which sees her knock out ‘Locked Out of Heaven’ hitmaker Bruno Mars from the top spot as well as occupy the tally’s top seat with a pure R&B tune – an extreme rarity.

It’s clear now that SHE is not playing around.  And, if her live performance from tonight’s episode of ‘Tamar & Vince’ is anything to judge by, the competition should start getting worried now…

Hitting the net with her scorching new single ‘Love & War‘, the last few hours have seen the cut ascend on iTunes like a bat out of hell, and is now on spot away from hitting #1. Yes, you read that right, #1.

However, in the case any doubted the true reach of the singer’s commercial power, tonight has seen her enter territory many a R&B rival has tried- and failed- to match. Territory, by the name of the UK charts.
