Iggy Azalea lends a helping hand to her ‘Grand Hustle’ pal T.I today, joining the star in releasing the video for their brand new single ‘No Mediocre.‘

Should their fans have it their way, the enviable success of Azalea’s #1 single ‘Fancy’ should go some way to help ‘Mediocre’ enjoy a healthy chart run, and support the rapper’s September release ‘Paperwork’, on which the song appears.

So, will the Director X– directed clip be enough to support the single?

Can’t say we didn’t see it coming!

For, after confirming she won the role of R&B sweetheart Aaliyah in a forthcoming Lifetime (not VH1) biopic, Zendaya Coleman found herself on the defense from fans of the late songstress who disapprove of her casting and the movie altogether.

Not only did naysayers set Twitter alight with their objections yesterday and today, but now an online petition has surfaced to put a halt to Haughton’s forthcoming biopic.  The story gained so much traction on social media that it prompted a response from the 17-year-old former Disney darling herself.

Many-a-non-Lady Gaga fan found news of the singer being slapped with a plagiarism suit unsurprising, but that didn’t stop her beloved Little Monsters from rejoicing today when reports surfaced that their Grammy-winning leader saw the lingering lawsuit officially dismissed by a judge.

Originally reported here in 2011, the claim – brought on by Chicagoan musician Rebecca Francescatti – alleges that Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ hit ‘Judas’ lived up to its betrayal-based storyline when it ripped off her 1999 track ‘Juda.’

The courts, much like most who have heard the two tunes, disagree with Francescatti’s assessment.  As ever, we turn to you – That Grape Juice faithful- to ask:  did the judge rule unfairly?

Starring Jurnee Smollet, the skit shed lights on a secret society made up of prominent Black performers who control Hollywood from the shadows, spreading their agenda through film, music, fashion…. and ‘Dunkaroos.‘

While chart positions and single sales see some entertainers hailed “legends” and “icons”, fans of ‘Brown Eyes‘ singer Lady GaGa will agree that it’s her talent and tenacity that earned her any moniker she’s scored since her debut in 2008.

That being said, one can’t deny that 2011 marked the start of a confusing period for the entertainer, kicked off by the release of the poorly received ‘Born This Way‘, whose success in its first few weeks of release may be attributed to the success of its predecessor ‘The Fame Monster’…and not its own material.

Fortunately, while a commercial dip would mark a disaster for her closest rivals, GaGa now stands just a few right moves away from reclaiming the support of the general public, some of whom had the pleasure of meeting the star when she made a surprise appearance at the ‘Frank Sinatra School of the Arts’ hours ago.

However, it would the ‘Pokerface‘ singer wasn’t the only one with a trick up her sleeve. For, unbeknownst to her, one of the school’s students snuck into its auditorium and secretly filmed the singer during what appears to be a rehearsal with her pianist.

What they captured?

Magic.

Indeed, set to mark a move he’ll no doubt regret, his promise to kill the rapper saw her launch a fresh Twitter assault on both he and the aforementioned Tiny, laying into their supposed illiteracy and the MCs long-running history with the law.

After spending the last year rocking headlines with her electric personal life, Teyana Taylor finally makes serious moves towards a career in music with the release of ‘Maybe’, her latest single.

Fortunately for her fans, the wait for solid Taylor material has been worth it.

Indeed, while verses from Yo Gotti and Pusha T do absolutely nothing for it, Teyana‘s vocal and its infectious melody give us no choice but to anticipate the release of its supporting album….even if its lyrics sway a little too close to cliches exhausted by many an Urban Contemporary newbie.
