Danny Noriega, top 10 finalist on season 7 of hit reality singing competition ‘American Idol’, is set to re-enter the realm of reality show competitions with a spot on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ in the upcoming season.  Full story below:

Via THR:

The 24-year old season 7 vocalist will unveil his alter-ego, Adore Delano, when the drag queen competition returns for its sixth season in February.  Noriega developed Delano’s personae and look-which features a fierce pink wig- after seeing his first drag shows in 2008.

Noriega said that he is looking forward to being able to wear makeup and do everything he was not permitted to do during his run on Idol.

‘The experience was amazing and I’m forever grateful for it, but I feel like I wasn’t allowed to go as far as I wanted to. There was just certain makeup that I wanted to wear and certain songs that I wanted to sing that I wasn’t allowed to,” he said. “I really don’t want to trash-talk the show, but I just wasn’t allowed to be as ‘out there’ as I wanted to be. I was actually told to calm it down.'”

“I was getting pulled in so many different directions — I don’t want to bad-talk anything, but a lot of us weren’t getting a lot of opportunities that we were supposed to be getting; let’s just put it that way. I was just an 18-year-old thinking he’s on top of the world,” he said. “That kind of thing, and I just kind of fell flat. I wasn’t a businessperson. I feel like this time around, given an opportunity like this, especially with something I’m so passionate about, is a blessing.

If this year’s charts are anything to go by, it would seem positivity most certainly pays when it comes to Pop music.

Just ask Katy Perry.

Outperforming each and every one of her closest competitors with the motivational ‘Roar’ and its PG approved LP ‘Prism’, the entertainer has seen her ‘light and bright’ brand kick glitter in the faces of her ‘wilder’ contemporaries.

This, not going unnoticed by the ‘Teenage Dreamer’, who has billed herself the ‘positive girl’ among her peers.

beyonce-mrs-carter-feb

As the world waits with bated breath for news on Beyonce‘s new album, the superstar singer has revealed that her ‘Mrs Carter Show’ will officially continue into 2014.

King B’s official Facebook page posted the shot above seconds ago, confirming that the blockbuster tour will return to Europe for a fresh set of concerts – kicking off on February 20th.

Dates haven’t yet been announced, but what is certain is that confirmation that the tour will extend into the New Year will renew debate about when exactly new Bey material will be released.

Though unconfirmed, the assumption is that the as yet untitled set (the recording of which has been shrouded in secrecy) will arrive early 2014. Touring in February makes one wonder if that’ll be the case, and if so, what exactly the 32-year-old has up her sleeve to manage being on the road while plugging a record? A ‘New Rules’ esque campaign? So many questions and yet so few answers.

As jarring as the wait has been, it’s all quite exciting, isn’t it? Needless to say, the next few weeks and months should be uber interesting.

Update: The show dates have been revealed. Check them out below…

Now, after unveiling the steamy video for the tune ‘Trumpets’, the stage-blazer takes off on yet another promo run in support of the tune – the latest coming in the form of a visit to BBC Radio 1’s ‘Live Lounge’.

As is common affair there, Derulo lent a live version of his own song as well as an acoustic cover.  His pick?  2013 mega-hit ‘Royals’ by newcomer Lorde.

Call him crazy but…

Genius is genius, says music critics at highly revered publications TiME, Rolling Stones, and Entertainment Weekly.  For, as the ‘year-end’ tallies come rolling in, the aforementioned three have unanimously championed Kanye West‘s 2013 release ‘Yeezus’ as the album of the year.

Beating out the likes of Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, and mentor Jay Z, the news comes just as fans complained of the Recording Academy’s overlook of the critically acclaimed set only giving it 2 nominations (“New Slaves” for Best Rap Song and “Yeezus” for Best Rap Album).

Elsewhere on the list, you can spot Katy Perry, Rihanna, Lorde, and more.  Ready to sound off?

The secret at the 2013 Victoria Secret Show certainly was not the absence of Urban Pop acts as it was alarmingly clear after riveting performances from the likes of Taylor Swift, Fall Out Boy, and more saw credits roll.

That, however (to some), did not make the showing any less enjoyable.
