As R&B continues to find new ways to reach and secure the audience it desperately needs to sustain, K.Michelle flies the flag for a new wave of entertainers using their endeavours on screen to push their stock on stage.

All too aware of this fact is VH1, the network responsible for the ‘Love & Hip Hop’ franchise, responsible for reviving Michelle’s career but who have seen her journey pull in viewers in their millions week on week.

Only right then, that they reward her with her own reality TV series, months after she parted ways with ‘Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’ and weeks before she stars in ‘Love & Hip Hop New York‘.

 Her discography may tell a tale of Pop perfection, but there’s no denying Rihanna is most renown for her inconsistent stage offerings.

Sometimes she’s great…sometimes she’s horrid.

They may have been involved in a well publicised war of words no more than a fortnight ago, but last night saw Kanye West & Jimmy Kimmel put their differences aside to meet on the latter’s hit ABC show ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live‘.

The best part about it?

While the interview could have taken an unfortunate turn, it saw Kanye share a number of his world views much to the surprise of the show’s audience but did raise many an eyebrow when he explained why he believes Kim Kardashian deserves a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

While fans wait with bated breath for the tracklist for ‘ArtPop’, the newest album from pop chameleon Lady Gaga, the songstress satiates with a lyric video to a new tune.

Title ‘Aura’, fans first learned of the number from the ‘Machete Kills’ soundtrack via a sneak listen weeks ago.  Now, its official lyric video – helmed by the movie’s director Robert Rodriguez, surfaces online and features sneak peeks into the film.

Naysayers may have doubted initially, but now it seems pop princess Britney Spears’ newest song ‘Work B*tch’ is doing just that – working.

Indeed, the song nearly slipped out of the top 50 a week after its debut on Itunes, but weeks later, after a smoking hot video to aid, the dance number appears to have re-entered the race – giving a run to chart champions Lorde, Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry (who have collectively dominated the Hot 100 all summer long).

Their efforts appear to be extending into the fall as well, but will their catchy tunes be enough to keep Britney at bay?  This week’s chart check awaits…

Singing sensation Ariana Grande has undoubtedly been a breath of fresh air for 2013’s pop music lovers.  A welcomed departure from EDM and the dearth of talent plaguing the day’s charts and radio alike, the pop princess has taken the genre by storm with a #1 album and top-selling singles to her credit.

Immediately drawing comparisons to an early 90s Mariah Carey, the up-and-comer has polarized Carey’s fans (affectionately called Lambs) for what some of them feel is a blatant duplication of the diva’s singing style.

Those fans’ anger grew to new heights today when Grande took to Billboard.com to list in grand style an homage to her top 5 favorite female vocalists.  Praising the likes of Whitney Houston and Brandy, there’s one name that, to the surprise of some, didn’t quite make the cut…

Lorde leaves to little wonder why her debut album ‘Pure Heroine’s addictive lead single ‘Royals’ is reigning atop Billboard charts for a second week.  Proof can be found in the songstress’s stop by ‘Ellen’ today to lend an impressive live showing of the number.

Performing it for the first time on daytime television, the 16-year-old brought her latest taste of dark pop to fans the same day she was greeted with news its parent album shifted 129,000 its first week to give her a #3 debut.
