Tonight brought with it two knockouts:  one of Floyd Mayweather, Jr. challenger Manny Pacquiao and the other of the U.S. national anthem by singer/actor/comedian Jamie Foxx.

Lending his soulful croon to the historic number, Foxx’s organ-accompanied rendition went out with a very unexpected Holy Ghost-inspired bang.

Sending some into a praise, while others (like our friends at VH1) branded the performance “cringe-worthy,” see what we mean and weigh in below:

Drake finds himself in wealthy company today, placed on a list tallying 2014’s highest-earning musicians!

The list uses cash generated by Pop’s brightest stars to compile the the top 40 and is set to surprise any who may have expected the likes of Iggy Azalea, Nicki Minaj and Jennifer Lopez to make commendable appearances following the release of new LPs in the period.

Lauryn Hill’s comeback may be on its way uphill, but that journey hasn’t come with its share of obstacles.

Indeed, the Grammy winning songstress has developed quite the unfortunate reputation for tardiness, reported prima donna antics, and other murmurs of unusual behavior since steadily touring around the world.

But, while fans of Lagos, Nigeria were about to add their names to the growing list of the diva’s detractors for a missed show yesterday, Hill took to Facebook to offer her apologies for the inconvenience via an acoustic performance of her signature hit ‘Doo Wop (That Thing)’ with a few special guests.

Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ ‘Uptown Funk’ has upped the number of names listed on its songwriting credits, Billboard reports.

The move, prompted by legal claims put in motion by hit 70s/80s R&B group Gap Band, comes as the song continues worldwide domination of charts despite recently ending a 14-week run at #1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
