As one of the few Pop stars whose success is hinged on their talent versus sensationalism, it’s not often Pink falls foul of public favour.

However, a sect of fans in Birmingham, England have been laying into the Grammy winning singer after she was forced to postpone her ‘Truth About Love Tour’ stop there after becoming ill.

Fed up with the jibes, the 33-year-old took to her official website to write an open letter. And yes, it’s as warm and witty as you’d think. Check it out after the jump…

As anyone who’s been to a Rihanna show (that wasn’t cancelled) will agree, performing isn’t where her “wow” factor lies. Indeed, even her staunchest supporters will be the first to confirm that it’s her catalogue of hits that make her, for better or worse.

Therefore, it’s little surprise that her new ‘777’ tour documentary has been unceremoniously slammed by critics.

Set to air on Fox on May 6th, the fly on the wall special chronicles the 25-year-old’s 7 shows, in 7 cities, over 7 nights promo push for her hit album ‘Unapologetic’. The ‘Diamonds’ led set, which is her 7th LP, became her first chart-topping project in the US upon release last November.

And while the album’s success may relay a triumphant narrative, its accompanying docu-movie reportedly boasts little in replay value. Not a good look when the full 77 minute version of the hour-long special will be released on DVD a day later (May 7th).

TGJ:  4) What’s been your favorite role so far?

Kym:  My favorite role to this day was on the ‘Wayans Bros‘. We did an episode called ‘Misery’. I got the chance to play a woman who kidnapped Marlon [Wayans]. I got to be so silly and ignorant!  So, I think that’s definitely it!

TGJ:  5) After years of film and television under your belt, what’s left for you to do? What’s your dream role?

Kym:  Probably more behind the camera. I’d love to do more production and directing.  My dream role would be to play a civil rights leader or something historic. No matter the time period, I am fascinated by African American history.

TGJ:  Wow! That was really unexpected!  So, bringing this all home, give us one reason why we should watch Raising Whitley?

Kym:  Two L’s – to laugh and learn!  Also, to be inspired!

‘Raising Whitley’ airs Saturdays, 10/9c only on OWN TV!
