With more cuts and switcheroos than Destiny’s Child, the X Factor panel has seen two judges and one host axed from its regular lineup just this week.  Such dismissals instantly ushered in whispers of who would replace female judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul.  And, while names like Nicki Minaj and Kelly Rowland were instantly tossed around, no name has had the rumor mill buzzing more than Mariah Carey.

Unlike Minaj and Rowland, the ‘Hero’ hitmaker was rumored to be part of the original cast of the show during its first American season as show creator, Simon Cowell, repeatedly made public pleas for the songstress to guest his show.  But, as the buzz reaches a feverish pitch, Mr. Mariah Carey husband Nick Cannon has stepped in to slam all reports that the singer will be joining the X Factor crew.

After hundreds of comments and thousands votes, the time has finally come for the winners of the 2011 That Grape Juice End of Year Awards to be announced! 

A certain Queen B dominated, while Adele also performed well.

It’s that time of year again!

The 2012 Grammy Awards nominations were announced just moments ago. The 54th annual ceremony, which will air live on February 12th via CBS, featured singers Adele and Katy Perry as expected frontrunners for the nominations.  However, with fellow divas Lady Gaga, Beyonce, and Rihanna all making splashes on charts in the last year, the stiff competition ironically saw Kanye West lead its pack with a whopping 7 nominations.

With awards season soon to be in full swing, the 2011 Soul Train Awards is on its way and the latest to unveil their list of nominations.  While performers expect to be confirmed in coming weeks, the Cedric the Entertainer-hosted ceremony is set to be held at Atlanta’s FoxTheater on November 17, 2011 but broadcast on Centric and parent channel BET on November 27.

And, with Chris Brown leading the pack with 5 nominations, Beyonce with 4 (…), and Kelly Rowland, Adele, and Marsha Ambrosius landing 3 nods each, the show is already shaping up to be a must see!

Since Beyonce‘s ‘4’ exploded onto the charts in June, fans have been “so in love” with the Andre 3000 assisted ‘Party’. Latavia isn’t the only of Destiny’s (former) Children making headlines today as ‘She Don’t’ songstress Letoya Luckett recently sat down with Essence magazine to dish on her many upcoming ventures.  Already a spokesperson for Luster’s haircare products and dabbling in film and television, the Houston native is looking to take on her biggest role yet – ‘From The Rough’.

‘Rough’, an inspirational sports drama due in theaters next year, sees Luckett star opposite famed actors Michael Clark Duncan and Oscar nominee Taraji P. As reported here, BET is set to honor late R&B songstress Aaliyah with a tribute special commemorating the 10th anniversary of her untimely passing.

BET reports the show, entitled Aaliyah:  One In a Million, will feature commentary from Missy Elliott, Timbaland, Patti Labelle, Kelly Rowland, and more.

Fans can tune into  BET on Thursday, August 25 at 8/7 central to catch the special.  Until then, BET is already underway with a 25 day celebration (starting August 1st) celebrating the accomplishments of the ‘More Than A Woman’ singer.
