When it comes to breaking chart records, few can boast a more royal track record than Rap Queen Nicki Minaj.

As if being the first female act (of any genre) to collect 100 Hot 100 hits wasn’t enough to brag about, she is listed as the most top 10 and top 20 hit-decorated female rapper in the chart’s 64-year history – a title she extended last week with the #7 debut of the Ice Spice-assisted ‘Barbie World.’

Spotlighting the latter point, Minaj banked her 23rd top 10 hit with the ‘Barbie’ arrival – not only extending her record among female rappers but putting her in some pretty exclusive company overall.

Rita Ora returns with her third studio album ‘You & I.’

Led by singles ‘You Only Love Me,’ ‘Praising You (ft. Fatboy Slim),’ and most recent effort ‘Don’t Think Twice,’ the project has been touted as a conceptual ode to the singer’s real-life love story with husband Taika Watiti.

Speaking on the record (which was executive produced by hitmaker Oak Felder), 32-year-old Ora explains how it’s her most personal effort yet:

“The ‘You’ in You & I represents more than just the man I love. It’s my mum, my friends, my fans, and in some ways, it represents the relationship I have with myself. This album has been like my diary for the past two years, and I’m so thrilled you finally get to hear it.”

‘You & I’  follows 2018’s ‘Phoenix’ album and Ora’s 2021 EP ‘Bang.’

J Hus is back and he’s brought a colossal cavalry with him.

The Afroswing pioneer has unleashed his third studio album ‘Beautiful and Brutal Yard,’ with features the likes of Drake, Burna Boy, Jorja Smith, and Popcaan.

Towering tall at 19-tracks, the eclectic set – which is home to summer smash ‘Who Told You’ – follows 2020 chart-topping sophomore offering ‘Big Conspiracy.’

‘Beautiful and Brutal Yard’ arrives ahead of Hus’ forthcoming arena tour, which includes stops at Dublin’s 3Arena (October 28) and concludes with two dates at London’s O2  Arena (November 5-6).

The June release of new songs ‘I Need a Thug’ and ‘Pinata’ undoubtedly had City Girls‘ fans (affectionately called #Citizens) thinking they were that much closer to the duo’s elusive third studio album – the follow-up to 2020’s ‘City on Lock.’

An unexpected pivot came Monday (July 10), however, when JT announced she would be lifting the lid on a solo venture: ‘No Bars.’

And while the rapstress (born Jatavia Johnson) has had her fair share of features without her groupmate Yung Miami (see: the “Queen Mix” to Nicki Minaj’s ‘Super Freaky Girl,‘ Summer Walker’s ‘Ex For A Reason,’ etc.), ‘Bars’ comes as her first totally solo outing since she ended her stint behind bars in 2019.

After ample teasing about a mystery collaborator for the revamp of her chart-topping single ‘ICU,‘ singer-actress Coco Jones dropped jaws when she took to the 2023 ESPY Awards’ red carpet Wednesday (July 12) to share her co-star remix would be none other than Justin Timberlake.

“He’s so cool and chill, like me! He gives me ‘I’m doing this for fun, but life is so much bigger.’ He’s a normal human like me,” she said at the time about the GRAMMY winner.

The finished product of their union, unveiled Friday (July 14), comes just weeks after the DJ Camper-produced slow jam slid to a Hot 100 peak of #63 – the highest rung Jones’ has enjoyed to date.
