Despite having a career full of laughable moments, Caribbean queen Rihanna has proven via a number of outlets (see: Twitter,  SNL, “role model status”) that her comedy skills are quite impressive.

A nod to such would be the announcement that Shy Ronnie’s former co-hort will be revisiting the SNL set for a new duet as well as performances and other skit appearances.  All of the aforementioned are sure to keep spectators laughing.

Peep R&B divas Brandy and Monica!

As earlier reported, the duo appear in the latest issue of EBONY magazine, where they – as per the cover and the newly surfaced pic above – serve up effortless fierce.

Beyond beaming in the magazines, the ladies are hard on their musical grind. Monica’s ‘New Life’ album has seen its latest single ‘Without You’ sent to radio, while Brandy’s comeback effort ‘Put It Down (ft. Chris Brown)’ continues to drum up ample buzz.

Talk about quick!  Fresh from making the announcement that ‘Icebox’ crooner Omarion would be joining ‘The Biggest Boss’ Rick Ross‘s camp Maybach Music, the two are already unleashing new music for the masses. The former B2K frontman’s first offering under the imprint is “Let’s Talk” – a thumping tune that samples 90s hip hop heavyweights Notorious B.I.G. and Salt & Pepa.

Nelly Furtado is back!

The singer is gearing up for the June 19th release of new album ‘The Spirit Indestructible’; and so as to whet appetites has unveiled the set’s standard and deluxe covers.

Hotly anticipated, the LP is preceded by ‘Big Hoops (The Bigger The Better)’ – which Furtado will bring to life live on stage at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards on May 20th. The track’s accompanying video is expected to debut on May 7th.

Exciting times, ay?

Let’s be honest, aside from being a poor man’s version of Janet‘s ‘Together Again‘, Rihanna‘s ‘Where Have You Been‘ really is all that and then some.

The latest clip in aid of her new album ‘Talk That Talk’, it premiered on Tuesday and follows the release of the record breaking number ‘We Found Love‘.

However, today gave indication that ‘Where‘ is to best ‘Love’s astounding feats.

It now holds the record for scoring the most views on VEVO in the shortest amount of time.

Without a doubt, Beyonce‘s skill as a writer is oft overshadowed by her success as an entertainer.

Writing or co-writing almost every number she’s recorded since her debut in 1998, Knowles’ writing feats include scoring a Golden Globe nomination for 2007’s ‘Listen’,.
This, after she became the second African American woman to win an ASCAP Songwriter Of The Year award, following  ‘Say My Name’ maestra Kandi Burruss.

So now, in recognition of her contributions to the craft, she is to be honored by the New York Association of Black Journalists this month.

Alicia Keys was in the loving mood last night, as she hosted 4th Annual Bronx Charter School for the Arts Auction at Marquee in NYC, alongside partner Swizz Beatz.

Snapped locking lips with the famed producer, the ‘Karma‘ maestra enjoyed the company of Melanie Fiona and Lala Anthony, in aid of the event which raises money for after-school programs at The Bronx Charter School for the Arts, as well as lending support to struggling students and their carers.
