City Girls‘ fans (affectionately called #Citizens) had their pleasure and fun doubled Friday (June 9) when the hitmaking duo released not one but two unexpected new tracks: ‘Pinata‘ and ‘I Need a Thug.‘

A week later, JT and Yung Miami have given the cut the visual treatment courtesy of a poolside, summer-ready music video.

“I need a thug / Sex, money, and drugs / Private jet flights while I’m gettin’ my back rubbed,” raps Miami before JT later chimes in with, “I need a thug with swag, like a rockstar / Bonnie and Clyde shit, tongue kissing in cop cars.”

Until Coi Leray gets an answer from her fellow chart-topping female rappers about remaking Lil Kim‘s ‘Ladies Night’ to score 2023’s first Hip-Hop Hot 100 #1 hit, it looks like she’s moving ahead by her lonesome on the journey.

Just days ahead of the delivery of her self-titled sophomore album (due on digital shelves June 23), Leray has lifted the lid on yet another of the LP’s gems – ‘Run It Up.’

“Run it up, run it up, run it up, run it up, run it up, run it up, ooh / I’m an angel in the day and a demon in the night / Don’t go thinking ’bout it cause you might lose your mind / Drop the top in the winter cause my heart cold as ice,” she croons on the new track.

‘Run’ comes as the third song Coi’s released in as many months following the warmly received ‘Bops’ and ‘My Body.’ Hear the new cut in full inside.

After ample (and often confusing) teasing, Doja Cat has finally given her beloved fans (affectionately called #Kittens) their first taste of what’s set to come on her forthcoming fourth studio album: ‘First Of All.’

Titled ‘Attention,’ the cut’s Friday (June 16) arrival came as a surprise announcement just Tuesday (June 13) and was quickly followed with a video teaser to whet appetites.

“Baby, if you like it, just reach out and pet it / This one doesn’t bite, it doesn’t get aggressive / Show you how to touch it, hold it like it’s precious /It don’t need your lovin’, it just needs attention,” she raps on the Y2K-produced track.

Fulfilling her promise to veer away from the sounds that lined her last two albums, ‘Hot Pink’ and ‘Planet Her,’ look inside to hear and see how Doja kept her word on ‘Attention’ (along with its Tanu Muino-directed music video).

Leigh-Anne Pinnock has unveiled her long-awaited debut solo single ‘Don’t Say Love.’

Serving as the first active member of Little Mix to press play on material of their own, the 31-year-old hits hard on her first swing of the bat.

Produced by Jimmie Gutch, Jon Bellion, and Pete Nappi, the high-octane track (which Pinnock co-wrote) lyrically calls for “something that’s real” after being inundated with the inauthentic.

Now, it appears her fellow femcee – Coi Leray – is hoping to follow suit by recruiting even bigger names in the female Rap game for a modern-day take on the 1997 Lil Kim smash ‘Not Tonight-Ladies Night Remix’ (which famously featured Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, Angie Martinez, Missy Elliott, and Da Brat).

In news certain to piss off the racist detractors, Disney’s 2023 live-action remake of the 1989 animated classic ‘The Little Mermaid‘ has not only doubled the original’s box office receipts but has sailed into the top 5 ranking of “most successful films of the year” to date.

And despite the unfavorable reception in Asian markets, the execs at Disney are so pleased with the performance of the Halle Bailey-led flick that they’re giving it an animated spinoff for TV.
