It’s been over 10 years since Grammy-winning #Soulbird India.Arie flew onto the scene with her debut album ‘Acoustic Soul’.

Since then, Arie has remained an anomaly – staying afloat on the wings of spiritually-tinged tunes like ‘Ready For Love’, ‘I Am Not My Hair’, and  ‘Video’,  her poetry-laced, guitar guided offerings kept her perched atop R&B and pop charts alike until the late 2000s when suddenly she was nowhere to be found.

Now, 2013 has brought with it a renewed voyage for India – one she shared openly when chatting exclusively with That Grape Juice recently.  The songstress dishes on her new album ‘Songversation’, those skin bleaching rumors, her open letter slamming the Zoe Saldana casting of Nina Simone in an upcoming biopic, and so much more.

Big Sean and Estelle were just of the stars to arrive at Pier 36 last night, showing up to support Eminem’s ‘G-Shock 30th Anniversary’ show ahead of his brand new album.

Performing a few of his greatest hits – ‘Stan’ included- the entertainer’s performance also saw him celebrate the brand’s birthday with ’30th anniversary timepiece’, set for release in December!

As she continues to welcome the critical praise secured by her recent ‘Mrs.Carter Show’ outing, ‘Schoolin’ Life‘ siren Beyonce surprised fans last night when she unveiled a brand spanking new hair cut!

Sharing snaps of her new do on Instagram, the performer saw one of the snaps receive 209,000 individual likes in the last four hours, met with comments that praised her bold move.

Alas, this positivity didn’t stop some from bashing the 17 time Grammy winner, leaving her fans – ‘The Beyhive‘- no choice but to defend her honour.

Famed for her luscious long locs, Beyonce took to Instagram today to showcase a bold new look.

Seemingly on a shoot of sorts (…), King B debuted a new shorter, cropped hair do, one a world away from the golden tresses she’s whipped across many a stage.

On a break of sorts since wrapping up the first US leg of her ‘Mrs Carter Show World Tour’, few details are known about the rationale (if any) for the new ‘do. What is certain, though, is that more pics await after the jump…

Last week Billboard unveiled a series of countdowns celebrating the 55th anniversary of the ‘Billboard Hot 100’ – the standard chart ranking system of today’s popular music.

Highlighting everything from the top 100 songs to every #1 song since the tally’s 1958 inception, the article courted little backlash given the fact they were based on legit statistics and not popular opinion…that is, until they unveiled the Hot 100’s top acts.

Now – days after the listing first hit the net – some fans are still up-in-arms about how pop icon Madonna landed as the top solo act in history, beating the likes of Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, and Stevie Wonder.  A feat all the more alarming when some recount the number of chart-toppers rivals Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey have had as well.

It just keeps getting better for ‘Magic’ maestro Robin Thicke.

Yes, after news that the Grammy-winning crooner earned his first #1 album and best first-week sales ever with his latest ‘Blurred Lines’, it appears its lead single/title track continues to dominate the singles charts as well.

Indeed, the T.I. and Pharrell-assisted track has not only notched its 9th week atop the Billboard Hot 100, but has now made history by breaking a record set by pop diva Mariah Carey in 2005…

Legendary ‘Through The Fire’ hitmaker Chaka Khan set the net ablaze today when rumors swirled that a series of clashes between she and troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan prompted the R&B diva to make a grand exit.

The report gained footing across outlets so fast, Khan decided to cool the story by offering her side of the story in an open letter lifted to her website earlier today.  Detailing a stint in rehab few knew she was even committed to, the ‘I’m Every Woman’ wailer shared news on her addiction, time with Lindsay, and more in this must read:

The pop starlet, whose latest promotional shots have been mostly nude, revs up her ‘performance art’ to motion via a new video to raise awareness of The Marina Abramovic Institute (Kickstarter) where she is seen practicing its prescribed methods completely nude.

The method, said to “increase one’s present sense of mental and physical awareness’, was reportedly introduced to Gaga during a three-day retreat last week in upstate New York.
