Just weeks after German Pop sensation Kim Petras teased a collaboration with Rap Queen Nicki Minaj, the two have sent their respective fan bases into a royal frenzy with the official unveiling of the new song ‘Alone.’

Lined with a prominent sample of Alice Deejay‘s 1999 signature hit ‘Better Off Alone,’ the tune follows Petras singles ‘If Jesus Was a Rockstar’ and ‘Brrr’ and is believed to be the third single from her forthcoming album.

“I’ve been tryna give it to you all night / What’s it gonna take to get you all alone? / I just want you here by my side / I don’t wanna be here, baby, on my own,” Kim croons on the chorus of the Dr. Luke-produced bop.

Ahead of the June 4 premiere of The Weeknd‘s forthcoming HBO drama series, ‘The Idol,‘ the Pop megastar (born Abel Tesfaye) lifts the lid on music that is set to line the show’s official soundtrack.

The first taste of such comes courtesy of ‘Double Fantasy’ – a reunion of sorts of Tesfaye and his ‘Low Life‘ co-star Future.

“Temperature risin’, bodies united / Now that I trapped you in my arms / No need to fight it, no need to hide it / Now that I see what’s in your heart / Baby girl, I’m the only one who knows this side of you,” Abel croons on the Mike Dean-produced cut.

Just days after the song got an unofficial debut during Metro Boomin‘s set at Coachella (April 14), music lovers are being introduced to its recorded version.

One of the year’s most unexpected pairings comes courtesy of chart-blazing music star Khalid and rising rapstress/songstress Bree Runway.

Titled ‘Be the One,’ the tune tells the tale of two hesitant lovers on the precipice of a passionate love affair.

“I can see the tears in your eyes when you look in mine / Told you for the thousandth time, you should be the one for me / Should I stay here tonight? Baby, you decide / Hopin’ you’d be the one, you, you could be the one,” they croon on the chorus of the Digi-produced cut.

The union comes as one neither star was shy about expressing elation over.

“This collaboration is special to me for more than one reason; I’m obsessed with this song; our voices marry together perfectly,” Bree said in a statement. “It magically came together from a hangout in the studio; I love Khalid for his light and his incredible character, I’m really proud to call him a friend, and now musical collaborator. This release will be major, very excited for the world to hear!”

Khalid echoed the sentiment.

“I’ve been a supporter of Bree since long before I even met her, and I have always been a fan of her artistry,” he added. “She has always been a superstar in my eyes and I’m beyond excited to share this moment and collaboration with someone who I can call a genuine friend!”

BTS star Jimin made history when his solo single, ‘Like Crazy,’ premiered atop the Billboard Hot 100 with the year’s biggest first-week sales two weeks ago.

The 27-year-old barely had time to celebrate being the first unaccompanied South Korean act to top the tally before reports began surfacing the tune’s second charting week would suffer a drastic reduction in qualified sales.

In late October 2022, Bruno Mars made history when he became the first artist to be attached to six Diamond-certified songs from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). “Diamond” denotes sales equivalence of 10 million in the United States.

The RIAA only credited five of those songs to the ‘Grenade’ singer’s cumulative count, a historic feat that was matched in February when The Weeknd‘s ‘Earned It’ earned him the fifth Diamond plaque of his career.

As fans of music’s leading crooners waited with bated breath to see who would break the tie, popular rapper Post Malone surprised with an upset Thursday (April 20) when it was announced he is now the sole owner of the record-breaking title for most Diamond-certified singles.

Rita Ora is wasting approximately no time lighting a match under the campaign for her new album ‘You & I.’

The chart-topper’s third studio effort and its July 14 was announced earlier today (April 19) and the media maven has unlocked its latest single ‘Praising You’ hours later.

Built around a sample of Fatboy Slim‘s classic 1998 smash ‘Praise You,’ the track is billed as a feature with the Dance giant.

Speaking on the release, Ora said:

“To not only get Norman (Fatboy Slim)’s stamp of approval but to actually collaborate with him and pay homage to such a massive song from my childhood was truly a surreal experience. I think this record means something different for everyone, but from my perspective, it’s about praising your loved ones and really celebrating those relationships. I’m incredibly honoured that we get to breathe new life into the song and re-introduce it to a whole new generation.”

Speaking of the rework, Norman (Fatboy Slim) added:

“From a chance meeting late one night in the Naughty Corner at Glastonbury a friendship and collaboration grew that on paper may look unlikely. Yet here it is, and it has a life of its own!”
