Adele must be wondering exactly how much positive karma she built up for herself in another life, for today she has received another bountiful blessing from the Pop Culture gods.
As if her record breaking sales for LP ‘21‘ weren’t enough to cement her as this decades reigning album chart Queen, today she received even more news that has seen her change the course of music history.
While Kelly Rowland‘s name may still be on many a lip after her show-stopping BET Awards performance, Trey Songz has the honor of having had more than just her name on his. Most recently the ‘Love Faces’ crooner was one of the many R&B stars on the billing for this past weekend’s Essence Music Festival in New Orleans.
In a set that featured some of Trigga’s biggest hits (‘I Invented Sex’, ‘Bottom’s Up’, and the like), the singer also performed his verse on Rowland’s ‘Motivation’ remix.
While fellow Destiny’s Child alum Beyonce is sitting atop the charts with her latest release ‘4’, Kelly Rowland is hoping to motivate fans to help her reach similar heights. The ‘Motivation’ singer was recently spotted on Fuse On Demand outlining details of her new album ‘Here I Am’ (due in stores July 26).

Today marks the release of Lloyd’s ‘King of Hearts’ album.
The singer’s 4th album, and first post-The Inc. release, mostly features production from famed Hip-Hop/R&B producer Polow Da Don and guest appearances from heavy-hitters such as Chris Brown, Trey Songz, and Young Jeezy. And much like the aforementioned, the album, preceded by the top 10 R&B hit ‘Lay It Down’, sees the New Orleans native venture into played out familiar subject matter over much of the album – sex. Unlike some of the album’s co-stars (I bet the readers know his name…his name…his name), Lloyd’s vocal ability is one that is noteworthy and often overlooked.
From the bass driven, slow jam ‘Naked’ to the Andre 3000 assisted “Dedication To My Ex”, Young Goldie may tip-toe into cliche, but his delivery is far from cloned. As, to the surprise of some, to say the album is solid would be an understatement.
Alas, Lloyd may be ‘King of Hearts’, but will he be the “King of Charts”? We at That Grape Juice want to know, are you checking for the album? Have you listened to or bought the LP?
Queen of Hip Hop Soul Mary J. Blige is certainly making her rounds this summer in preparation for her new fall release ‘My Life II: The Journey Continues’. Evidence of that is the surfacing of the new track ‘The Living Proof’. A piano laced ballad, featured on The Help soundtrack (due in stores July 26), sees Blige display a softer, toned down vocal performance – a rarity.

Pop belter Mariah Carey has cause to celebrate today, for she is reportedly set to join the cast of X Factor USA when it makes its way to our screens this September.
