As previously reported, Pop ‘Commander’ Kelly Rowland and Haitian hitmaker Jason Derulo are going Down Under to play ‘dance master’ on Australia‘s new ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ – inspired show ‘Everybody Dance Now’.

Each being renown for offering some of the industry’s most high octane dance moves, the two join forces to captain teams that will compete for prizes of $10,000 nightly and place in the finals to compete for the grand prize of a whopping $250,000!

While we’ve already shown you many-a-promo for the effort, with the show seeing its debut Sunday (August 12) night, find out what the dance masters themselves have to say about the upcoming dance battle royales!

Channelling the classy look she sported in her now infamous “tape”, the X Factor judge strikes quite the pose in the issue – which hit newsstands exactly a week before the ITV hit returns to the small screen.

That said, we’re still distracted by the strap-line which christens her a “Teen Icon”. Needless to say, the devil is a liar and so is whoever conjured up that nonsense. Icons (nor any artist deserving of their record contract) don’t perform like this…

After spending the last seven years hosting BET‘s ‘106&Park‘, Terrence J shocked the world when he announced he was to depart the show later on this year, alongside co-host Rocsi Diaz.

Now, after weeks of speculation, it has been reported that he had signed onto present on the E! Network.

According to AlwaysAList.Com, the actor is gearing up to serve as a replacement for long time host Ryan Seacrest, whose ‘American Idol‘ commitments will see him spend less time on the network- which houses seasoned reporter Giuliana Rancic.

They explain:

A source close to the network tells AlwaysAList.com that “they’re very supportive of him pursuing his acting career.”

Ironically, Terrence J’s departure from BET mirrors that of former “106 & Park” host A.J. Calloway.  When Calloway left the show in 2005 he also joined a news magazine show, “Extra!” where he continues to work as a correspondent.

No word on when Terrence J officially starts on “E! News.”  Back in May, he guest-hosted with Rancic and speculation began online that he was in talks with the network.

The snaps arrive as the songstress makes more headlines for rumored romance with  John Mayer than music making, but nonetheless the latter is said to be finding its way to stores in the coming month.  The album would come as the follow-up to the singer’s mildly wildly successful ‘Teenage Dream’ – which spawned 5 #1 singles.

As the August 21st release date of his fifth studio effort ‘Chapter V’ swiftly approaches, ‘Panty Droppa’ divo Trey Songz is beefing up promo efforts for the project – recently taking to Wild 94.9 this week to dish on dibs from the new cut.

In addition, the crooner also chimed in on the pressing Drake-producing-Aaliyah-album debate and once again, as many times before, reiterated his desire to gain his own duet with ‘Diva’ Beyonce.

As many an act has learned before her, one’s legacy is only as powerful as the actions one takes in their career to preserve it.

Unfortunately for Lil Kim, by way of falling for traps set by reigning Rap Queen Nicki Minaj and a questionable work ethic, she has seen her once admired career tainted and almost destroyed in recent years.

Sullied, by her inability to match feats scored by acts she herself paved the way for.

Now, in a letter sent to That Grape Juice.Net this evening, her remaining fans have threatened to boycott her- citing her disregard for their supports  as grounds for their grievance.

Still fiercely private (and doing much of her talking on stage), it’s great to see Ms. Knowles-Carter loosening up and adapting to the online age; one which stresses the importance of fans being able to feel connected to their idols.

It was the comeback many had been awaiting. Indeed, it’s been three years since Mariah Carey last released a traditional studio album – and seven since she released one anyone actually cared about.

Hence, the so-so reaction new single ‘Triumphant’ has received both critically and commercially is sure to come as somewhat of blow to the diva’s comeback campaign. A campaign which appears to be re-jigging strategy in light of the song’s performance (or lackthereof)

As reported yesterday, the 42 year old’s manager Randy Jackson confirmed that the cut’s housing album is slated for a March 2013 release – essentially auto-rendering ‘Triumphant’ a “buzz single”. A status we have a hard time believing was the “plan” from the outset. For, even the most well-prepared and well-executed projects would never leave a seven-month gap between the first “taste” of the LP and its arrival in stores. Never.

Thoroughly puzzling, it’s a “strategy” which begs the rhetorical question: why release ‘Triumphant’ now? Indeed, there isn’t an answer that could truly satisfy.

Still much loved, Mariah commands a loyal “Lamb” community; yet beyond that ultra dedicated bracket, there isn’t overwhelming “demand” for her in the music marketplace. At least not to the feverish degree that “demands” such a rush-release. What’s more, having signed up to judge ratings juggernaut American Idol, a vast weekly audience awaits Ms. Carey-Cannon when the show kicks off in January. Surely, holding off until then would have benefitted her cause more – ala rival Jennifer Lopez? Instead, she’s left with a first-hurdle misstep which sees the song moving at snail-pace at radio, sitting at #95 on US iTunes, and notable by its absence in the Top 200 of the UK tally.

There is, of course, room for the track to rebound; the debut of its music video is imminent, while its better-received remixes are due on iTunes next week. The latter being particularly noteworthy. In a recent interview with Billboard, Jackson touted the Dancier incarnations of the cut as being “for the fans”. Perhaps they are. Yet, we’re sure he and the rest of Team Mariah, are well-versed in the grey area that surrounds Billboard’s rules regarding the Hot 100. Indeed, unless structurally so different that it constitutes a “new song”, sales of remixes routinely count towards the title track’s overall chart placing. A practice which gives Mimi three lifelines to play with – if counting the original, Vintage Throwback, and Pulse versions of the song.

For us, though, we simply hoped she’d release the right song, more importantly at the right time. Still, what’s done is done. Fingers crossed for a revival of interest in the project, though; as -“new voice” and all- Mariah remains one of the industry’s most enduring and authentic assets. It’s time she stopped selling herself short.
