The legendary Prince released his hotly anticipated ’20Ten’ LP here in the UK yesterday. A landmark release, in that the Purple one shunned iTunes and store stocking of the album in favour of giving it away for free with The Mirror newspaper, the LP is being hailed by some as his best work in 20 years.

Never ones to follow hearsay, we here at That Grape Juice are keen to hear what YOU think of ’20Ten’. Is it any good? Does it live up to the 52 year old’s efforts of yesteryear? Or is it simply yet another Prince album by the numbers…

This week’s classic From The Vault clip comes courtesy of En Vogue and their 1992 smash ‘Free Your Mind’. Lifted from the ladies ‘Funky Divas’ LP, the song  packs more than a pulsating beat…it packs a powerful message. A message conveyed oh-so-well by Dawn, Terry, Cindy, and Maxine  in its accompanying video.

Watching this kinda has me hopeful that some of today’s charting acts will be inspired to fuse powerful and necessary messages into their music – if even only to try. For, as this shows, it is indeed possible to weave-sling, Naomi Campbell walk, and rock out to a song which boasts lyrics other than those centred on the same ol’ topics of love and clubs.

For all her success, Beyonce has found herself subject to increasing murmurings surrounding her song-writing (or lack-thereof ). In a recent interview with our friends over at Bossip, ‘Diva’ producer Bangladesh was grilled on whether the ‘Single Ladies’ singer actually writes the songs she receives writing credits for.

Pop star Alexandra Burke reaffirmed her commitment to Haiti by paying a second visit to the recovering nation. The ‘Hallelujah’ singer saw the carnage left by the infamous Earthquake which rocked the country back in February first-hand, going back this week to assist with the work charity Save The Children have been doing to rebuild the country. {Read more on Alex’s recent Haiti visit by clicking here}

More power to Alexandra! It’s refreshing to see a celebrity actually caring enough to follow-up on Haiti, now that the media coverage and photo-opps have died down. Good stuff…

While Mekell’s voice may not pack the horse-power that Usher’s does, he still turned in a solid spin on the song. Good stuff.

Superstar Beyonce may be accustomed to designer frocks and what not, but the ‘Single Ladies’ singer is clearly a fan of high-street fashion, after being snapped shopping up a storm ar Topshop‘s flagship store here in London last night.

The 28 year old is currently in town with hubby Jay-Z, who has been playing the festival circuit. HOV will be taking to stage at the T In The Park and Oxygen festivals in Scotland over the weekend.
