It looks like everybody went to the Floyd Mayweather vs Shane Mosley boxing match last evening. The event, which was held at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, brought out the biggest names in music and entertainment including the world’s best-selling female artist, Mariah Carey, her husband Nick Cannon, and producer Swizz Beatz. Beatz last collaborated with Carey on her ‘E=MC²’ album on the track ‘O.O.C.’. Could another musical union between the two be in the works?

Beyonce sprung a surprise on her fans a few moments ago, releasing this teaser clip for ‘Why Don’t You Love Me’. The song, which served as a bonus track on the superstar’s ‘I Am Sasha Fierce’ LP, isn’t believed to be getting the single treatment, which leaves many scratching their heads as to why a video is being released. I guess time will tell.

Kelly Rowland strikes a pose at the press-call of Scott Barnes’ book launch for his latest effort ‘About Face’; the star-studded event took place this past Friday (April 30th) in Coral Gables, Florida.

Rowland, 29,  jetted back into the States this week ahead of the video shoot for her ‘Commander’ video. Reliable sources inform That Grape Juice that the video will be shot by a noted Japanese director, who was head-hunted to direct the clip.

With R&B star Brandy currently enjoying renewed popularity via her hit VH1 show ‘A Family Business’, the singer will no doubt be looking to capitalise on it with the impending release of her new album. Indeed, it appears the mother of one is pulling all the stops with the as-yet-untitled LP, after confirming that she is currently in the studio working with hitmaker Danja.

Renown for his work with Britney Spears (‘Gimme More’), Mariah Carey (‘Migrate’), and Nelly Furtado (‘Maneater’), Danja joins an already impressive list of producers who have been tapped to work on the project – inclusive being Timbaland.

In being one that feels Brandy’s last 3 efforts were unfairly underrated, I’m certainly rooting for Ms. Norwood this go round. With her show (which will almost certainly be green-lighted for a season 2) giving the album a great lead-in, as well as the involvement of top-notch producers, things really look to be on the up for her.

After sending fans into a frenzy with the première of her new single ‘Commander’ this week, Kelly Rowland is proceeding full steam with the promotion of the track.

Indeed, it has been confirmed today that the song’s accompanying video will be shot next Wednesday (May 5th) in Los Angeles. While the clip’s director is currently unknown, the revered Fatima Robinson will be choreographing the video.

Exciting stuff!

Tidbit: Word has it Rowland’s camp are mulling over whether to release ‘Commander’ in all territories or to go with another single in the US (What do you think?). In any case, current plans see the song being released to iTunes (including) in about 2 weeks.

The diva, who was in fine vocal form (as you can tell from her playful singing), used the opportunity to reveal that she will be releasing multiple fragrances later this year in time for the holidays. The unstoppable force that is Lady GaGa has reportedly been meeting with the heads of Interscope to renegotiate the terms of her contract. The entertainer, with the assistance of manager Troy Carter and attorney Gary Stiffelman, is seeking to reach a new deal in time before her next studio release in the fall of this year. GaGa’s 1st album, ‘The Fame’, has sold over 3.25 million copies in the US and its followup, ‘The Fame Monster’, has already surpassed the one million mark since it’s release in November last year. Add those figures to the 15.5 million singles that she sold since her debut in 2008 and GaGa has a lot to bring to the bargaining table. Ching ching! {Source}
