Tori Kelly is back and in full effect!

With nearly four years separating her dedicated fans from her last traditional album, 2019’s ‘Inspired by True Events,’ Kelly was inspired to take her next era back to her roots sonically and visually.

Kicked off by the new song ‘Missin U,’ the Tenroc, Jon Bellion, and The Diner-produced cut marks her re-entry to the world of traditional R&B on the sonic front while her aesthetic boasts an embrace of her natural locks.

“With this next chapter and era of my career, it felt right to change things up. After ten years of being blonde, I wanted to go back to my natural hair color. In a lot of ways, this is me going back to my roots…I’m looking forward to having fun with my overall look and expressing myself through this new sound that I’m really proud of,” she recently told PEOPLE,

However, unlike our other segments – Retro Rewind, TGJ Replay, and From The Vault – The Pop Stop is the most in-depth look at Pop songs that may have flown under the radar over the last week that you should know, rather they be from music’s biggest stars or those on the rise.

This week, we want to highlight cuts from Luke Combs, Sabrina Carpenter, KAI, and Nightly .

March 17 may be Tamar Braxton‘s birthday, but it looks like she’s the one handing out gifts.

After ample teasing over the last year, the youngest of the Braxton clan has finally lifted the lid on new music – her first official release since cuts found aboard 2017’s ‘Bluebird of Happiness’ album (excluding features, soundtrack, and specialty offerings).

Titled ‘Changed,’ the tune – which incorporates elements of SWV‘s classic ‘Rain‘ – tells the tale of a love gone all sorts of wrong.

“I thought you were the man of my dreams / So how the hell was I wrong? / I gave you all of me, oh / Boy it coulda been you / I thought you were the guy of my dreams,” Braxton croons the Donald “Hazel” Sales-produced cut.

Being one of her generation’s most celebrated vocalists, Tori Kelly is no stranger to heavy demand for new music.

But with four years separating music lovers from a traditional studio album of hers, their high anticipation turned into impatience – a state the GRAMMY-winning songbird addressed cryptically in the last months of 2022 before offering a surprise announcement earlier this year about her next musical offering.

Cue ‘Missin U‘: her debut single for new label home Epic Records.

“I miss that feelin’ you would bring / I miss the way that you would make my sidekick bling and bling / I look at my fingers and think about rings / Yeah, we had a good thing,” she coons on the Jon Bellion-produced tune.

Announced March 8 (as we reported here), ‘Missin’ not only marks Tori’s long-awaited return to R&B but also signals the beginning of an edgier era as alluded to by the once-blonde diva’s dark locks.

Ahead of the arrival of its official music video Friday (March 17) at 11am, hop inside to hear ‘Missin’ in full.
