Missy Elliott may have paved the road a lot of her female Rap successors cruise down, but Monday (October 17) she was officially honored with a street named after her.

In August, the city council of Portsmouth, Virginia, the hometown of the 4-time GRAMMY winner, voted unanimously to rename its McLean Street to Missy Elliott Boulevard.

Finally unveiled Monday while thousands of her fans (including celebrity friends Timbaland, The Clark Sisters, Trey Songz, and others) looked on, hop inside to see Miss celebrate the historic milestone.

The reverberations from Kanye West‘s appearance on Drink Champs continue to spill over.

As reported, the controversial rapper took to the platform to pour fuel on the flames of his polarizing views about a multitude of topics – including race relations.

Perhaps most shocking were his remarks about George Floyd‘s death. For, despite former police officer Derek Chauvin being convicted of killing the unarmed Black man, West claimed that it was actually the drug Fentanyl that was the cause.

Now, host N.O.R.E. – who has been receiving heat in earnest for not taking West to task – is speaking up and out. And he’s in a remorseful space.

Pusha-T brought the heat with his latest performance.

Serving as the musical guest on Thursday’s episode of ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers,’ he wowed the audience with a showing of his song ‘Just So You Remember.’

“Just so you remember who you dealing with / The number don’t change, I know who the chemist is / Brick by brick, we kept open dealerships / Mitch by mitch, we built up our villages,” he rapped. 

The song appeared on his most recent album, ‘It’s Almost Dry,’ which was released earlier this year. Upon its debut, the album saw massive commercial and critical success. It became his first #1 album on the Billboard 200 chart.
