Before Anderson. Paak was rocking Billboard charts, radio, and award shows with hits dispensed alongside Bruno Mars as part of the group Silk Sonic, the GRAMMY winner was making noise as part of another duo: NxWorries.

Formed in 2016 with producer Knxwledge, the two dropped the critically acclaimed effort ‘Yes Lawd!’ at the time, which included fan favorites like ‘Scared Money,’ ‘What More Can I Say,’ and ‘Suede.’

This week the twosome reunited to release the new song ‘Where I Go,’ featuring GRAMMY and Academy Award-winning songstress H.E.R.

“She wanna know where I’ve been and who I seen, she wanna know where I’m goin’ and can we meet?/ She say I’m so terrible, but this is me, I love her from head to toe and in between/ I know we do a lot of back and forth, I know we do a lot of fast and slow/ I know I’m gon’ contradict myself, I know you gon’ ride the d**k like a pro,” the pair croon on track.

The story of Emmett Till is one that continues to resonate almost 70 years on.

And with the arrival of the powerful new film ‘Till,’ it’s a narrative that will undoubtedly move the masses even more.

The MGM production chronicles the never-before-told story of Mamie Till-Mobley and her quest for justice after her teen son, Emmett, was brutally murdered in a racist attack.

Directed by Chinonye Chukwu, ‘Till’ received its UK premiere at the BFI London Film Festival 2022 and was selected to central focus of the Mayor of London Gala.

That Grape Juice was on-hand at the launch and caught up with Danielle Deadwyler (who plays Mamie) and Jalyn Hall (Emmett), as well Tosin Cole and Chukwu. All of whom spoke to the necessity of the story, the change they hope it will spark, and the early Oscar buzz arounf the film.

TGJ’s Samuel Eni also had the honor of talking with Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, who also gushed about the potency of ‘Till.’

Your thoughts?

Readers of That Grape Juice know how passionate we are about music – whether that be past or present.

However, unlike our other segments – Retro Rewind, TGJ Replay, and From The Vault – The Pop Stop is the most in-depth look at Pop songs that may have flown under the radar over the last week that you should know, rather they be from music’s biggest stars or those on the rise.

This week, we want to highlight cuts from Ellie Goulding, Joel Corry, Nightly, and Billy Lockett.
