“The show must go on,” so DaBaby is finding ways to laugh through the controversy.

The embattled rapper is still very much on the receiving end of professional and personal backlash for rendering homophobic remarks about ‘men who suck d*ck in parking lots’ and people living with HIV last month (as previously reported).

But, after delivering multiple apologies (to no avail), the GRAMMY nominee recently deleted his final formal statement on the matter from his social media before taking a few days to cool off.

Now, he’s back and appears to be taking the ‘cancelation’ in stride. See what we mean inside:

From reported affiliation with former president Donald Trump to polarizing comments on the Black Lives Matter movement and more, Lil Wayne has braced his fair share of public scrutiny over his 20-year career.  Hence, his outlook on the ongoing DaBaby drama is one of particular value.

As has been extensively covered, DaBaby (born Jonathan Kirk) is experiencing a wave of backlash after taking to the Rolling Loud Festival stage to impart derogatory remarks about people living with HIV and ‘men who suck d*ck in parking lots.’  As a result, the backlash has been so widespread Kirk has lost endorsement deals and major performance opportunities.

When quizzed on his thoughts on the DaBaby hoopla, Wayne offered a surprising response.  Read his comments inside:

DaBaby continues to speak up and out against ongoing backlash stemming from homophobic and insensitive commentary he delivered at Sunday’s ‘Rolling Loud’ (July 25).

As has been extensively reported, the rapper (born Jonathan Kirk) has been dominating news cycles since he openly slammed ‘men who suck d*ck in parking lots’ and people living with HIV during his live performance at the concert festival – a stance that brewed swift criticism from concertgoers, fans, LGBTQ+ advocates and allies, and even fellow celebrities like Dua Lipa, Elton John, Anitta, Demi Lovato, and more.

Now, after issuing multiple statements and even a music video to address the hoopla of the matter, Kirk is still using his platform to clap back at detractors – likely to his detriment.

‘Zoom’ rapper Boosie Badazz is no stranger to zooming to the top of Twitter’s trending tally for problematic statements about women, the LGBTQ+ community, and more.

Now, he’s ruffling feathers again – this time in defense of his ‘Period‘ co-star DaBaby.  Look inside to see what he’s said that has people up-in-arms.

DaBaby has been a firm fixture in the headlines after making shocking homophobic remarks during his performance at Rolling Loud Miami.

As reported, the rapper drew on offensive stereotypes when addressing the gay community. He later went on to add abhorrent remarks about AIDS and HIV.

The backlash has been swift and seismic, with both fans and industry peers – including Dua Lipa – slamming him in earnest.

Now, after making one ill-advised attempt at addressing the matter, he has taken to Twitter to add more to the narrative.

Dua Lipa may have ascended to the top of the charts with ‘Levitating’ collaborator DaBaby, but that isn’t stopping her from voicing her disgust at the homophobic remarks he made about gay people at Rolling Loud Miami.

As reported, the MC shocked the fans at the festival, when he randomly said:

“If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases, then put your cellphone lighter up. Fellas, if you ain’t sucking d**k in the parking lot, put your cellphone lighter up.”

In the time since, the backlash has grown enormously – particularly after the rapper seemingly doubled down on his comments while ironically trying to extinguish the flames of anger.

Now, as the fury burns hotter, Lipa is the latest name to weigh in.
