When not causing controversy with “strange substances”, vocal priestess Rihanna makes her dollars peddling music.

With her latest offering being ‘Where Have You Been’, the 24 year old has been steadily teasing the single’s video – releasing yet another still from the clip today.

Much like the track’s accompanying album and  the model’s career moreover, the shot leaves much to be desired. Here’s hoping the actual video delivers.

Mariah Carey made a family day out of her visit to Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz today.

Armed with husband Nick Cannon and twins Monroe and Moroccan, the diva looked noticeably demure as she left her New York residence.

With Alicia and Swizz having a tiny tot of their own in Little Egypt, this likely wasn’t a “working” visit. Although, we so wish it was. For, as a writing-producing duo, Ms. Keys and her hubby have cooked up quite a few bangers in recently years (see: Whitney’s ‘Million Dollar Bill’). And with Mimi thirsty for a new sound, this could be just what the comeback Dr prescribed.

The last few years have seen Lil Kim hit headlines for everything but her music.

However, in a new insightful interview with MTV Sucker Free, the Queen Bee has revealed that there’s a method to her madness.

Opening up for the first time on the topic, the femcee revealed that a succession of lawsuits and label drama have kept her from officially releasing new music, and at one point left her indebted to a former label.

Famous for being famous, Kim Kardashian has earned a fortune pimping her life out in the media.

And yet, no dollar bill could hide the reality star’s embarrassment after being “flour-bombed” at the launch of her new fragrance, True Reflection. 

While doing the media rounds at the event, which took place at Hollywood’s London Hotel, the 31 year old was dozed in cooking flour by female posing as press.

For Madonna‘s twelfth studio album, the Material Girl has ditched the ‘hard candy’ in favor of something stronger, something meaner. Something she bills, her ‘MDNA’.

A Pop triangulation of sorts, the set was primary produced by the singer’s longtime collaborator William Orbit and two contemporary composers, Benny Benassi and Martin Solveig, to inject an air of “fresh” and “exciting”. As always, being the businesswoman that she is, M shares a songwriting and producing credit on every track.

As her first release not to be associated with Warner Bros. Records (the label she called home since 1982), all eyes are on whether the ‘Queen of Pop’ has crafted a blockbuster Pop LP. One which firmly plants her as a viable contender against the Rihanna‘s and Katy Perry‘s of the world. And one which, at the same time, reintroduces her brand to the ‘YouTube Generation’.

In the heat of her hype, it’s  easy to forget how far Nicki Minaj has come from her days as a struggling MC.

For, putting her revival of Female Rap aside, her feats as an artist/aspiring mogul have been astounding to say the least.

From scoring a lucrative 360 deal with the folk over at Young Money , to negotiating her way into MAC‘s Viva Glam campaign, it’s clear to see that  her ‘rise to the top’ is down to her oft overlooked business savvy, and not her oh-so infamous ‘assets’.

As the man responsible for her stardom, one can only imagine how Clive Davis is coping with the death of long time friend, Whitney Houston.

Especially, taking into account that she passed in the very hotel he was holding his annual Pre- Grammy party, a party she was set to perform at.

It’s certainly been a game of musical chairs (literally) since X Factor USA’s Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger found themselves axed from the judges panel.  With rumors swirling at who would be the ladies’ replacements, no two names have been mentioned more than vocal powerhouses Mariah Carey and Beyonce.  Both of whom have made headlines in the last year for new additions to their families, the mommy musicians have had the industry abuzz with news of Cowell’s interest in their seating on the judges row.

As reports began to surface that Simon offered the ‘Upgrade U’ diva $100 million dollars (some reports claiming $500 million) just to guest the judges bench and Nick Cannon reportedly slamming suggestions of wife Mariah’s involvement, the X Factor craftsman has finally decided to come forth to set the record straight on both ladies’ potential involvement on the show.

Undeterred by the backlash that greeted his last lavish showing, 50 Cent is still keen to show that he’s still making it rain – even if his career isn’t.

Taking to his trusty Twitter account, the rapper – real name Curtis Jackson – tweeted the shots of him and his green. Yet, this time, was keen to show that it wasn’t to make folk green with envy.

Of the money (which he says he won betting on Sunday’s 49’ers game), he wrote:

“Just watched a 500,000 dollar foot ball game get on my level, I’m giving this money to my nana she gonna faint LMAO all she do is go to the church”.

X Factor USA star Melanie Amaro has been ear-marked for sure-fire success after winning season one of the Fox talent search.

However, as many an industry analyst will know, how her $5 Million dollar record contract is handled has a direct correlation to how successful she’ll be. Everything from A&R, to producers, to marketing the finished comes from the seemingly bottom-less pocket – essentially creating way for a profitable success or a highly expensive failure.

Put simply, the young starlet would need to be in the right hands for her dreams post-show to come to fruition. A fact Simon Cowell seems to know well, as he has negotiated a deal for Amaro with fellow music mogul and X Factor judge LA Reid.
