R&B star Ciara sizzles in a barely there two-piece in US Magazine’s Hot Bodies issue. The ‘Ride’ singer posed for the mini-shoot on the rooftoop of the Mondrian SoHo Hotel in New York recently.

Gushing on her body, she said:

I feel sexiest when I’m by myself, walking around nude. That’s when I feel really good. I have this new obsession with nudity. It may sound weird, but I just love embracing the body. I think it’s beautiful. {Source}

However, most noteworthy in the feature is the announcement that the 25 year old is set to embark on a Summer tour. The news will no doubt delight fans who, since the release of the ill-fated ‘Basic Instinct’ LP last year, have seen very little of the performer. Particularly on a musical tip.

Yet, in as much as it’s great to see Ms. Harris hustle her way back to the top, one has to wonder what kind of tour she’s looking to set out on. For,  with no ‘hit’ to back its cause (not to mention the dismal sales of ‘Instinct’), it’ll definitely be interesting to see if fans flock to any such live set.

Still, given her undeniable ability to thrill as a performer, this could very well be just what she needs to reconnect with her base. Time, as ever, will tell.

Someone, somewhere must really take to Shontelle. Because, after her last single ‘Perfect Nightmare’ failed to set the charts alight, she has been handed another lifeline in the from of new single ‘Say Hello to Goodbye’.

On their hit reality show ‘Braxton Family Values’, Toni’s sisters Trina, Towanda and Tamar are depicted as the Party Girl, the Responsible One and the Diva respectively. Well, this week’s From The Vault will showcases the trio as members of underrated R&B group, The Braxtons. Lifted from their 1997 second album, ‘So Many Ways’, ‘Slow Flow’ is yet another example of the talent with which has blessed the Braxton family.

The laid-back groove is evocative of the R&B scene during the mid-nineties: New-Jack beat: check, DJ-scratches: check, melancholic synth-line: check, great vocals: check.

Moreover, each member is apportioned ample light to flaunt what they’re working with. From Trina’s deep, mature vocal, to Towanda’s soulful tone (one we must add lends itself well to Gospel music), and of course Tamar  – whose voice proves just as big her personality. Indeed, any such doubt of her ability is dispelled when she takes charge and treats us to a melisma-heavy final chorus.

Hopefully at some point, the show, without losing its comical and inspirational appeal, will provide more music-related storylines for the ladies. As, like this song and numerous others attest, they are worth so much more than the ‘roles’ they’ve been assigned. Of course, seeing Tamar act like Tamar is great – however, it’d be hot.com if we’d see more of such antics in a recording studio.

Bring On that reunion album!

Somewhere in the darkest depth of Pop culture, Milli Vanilli are gagging in disgust. For if reports are to believed, a new vocally deficient duo may be after their spot. For, Rihanna and Britney Spears are apparently to perform together on tomorrow night’s Billboard Awards.

After serving up solely laid back visuals from his ‘F.A.M.E’ LP, Chris Brown gets theatrical in the video for the project’s latest release ‘Next To You’.

The clip for the Justin Bieber assisted cut was shot this week at Universal Studios, California.

With ‘F.A.M.E’ already certified Gold, (and its campaign showing no signs of slowing), Brown really is racing towards Platinum status. And, with more than six videos released for the project to date, he is doing so with much ferocity.

One has to wonder where Brown’s success leaves the Trey Songz‘s of the world. Surely the car in the pic above mirrors his chart prospects at this point?

For years, many doubted Kelly Rowland. Indeed, for some, allowing the 30 year old to emerge from the shadows of bandmate Beyonce was just too tough a task.

However, with her latest single ‘Motivation’ fast approaching ‘smash’ status, the Stateside masses are seemingly welcoming the Pop star back – and are this time ready to see her as a solo force in her own right.

One man who long saw the potential in Rowland is producer Rico Love. Tapping into that potential, he and the singer churned out her biggest hits in recent memory – Europe’s ‘Commander’ and, of course, ‘Motivation’.

Speaking to our friends over at Singers Room, Love shares his thoughts on Rowland’s resurgence and why she’s making it big this go round.
