This week’s That Grape Juice Cover Star(s) are Mezzie La’Flare. The Dallas, Texas duo, consisting of Cymon and Charity, turn in an ‘interesting’ rendition of Ciara‘s Urban hit ‘Ride’.

Check it out below:

Perhaps one of the most noteworthy Cover Stars we’ve featured yet, Mezzie La’Flare’s take on ‘Ride’ manages to be a car-crash comedy, while somewhat ‘good’ at the same time. Clearly over-sung, with vocal finesse nowhere in sight, the ladies do show a litte promise with some of their adlibs and runs. Still, we’re keen to hear your 2 Cents on this one; hot or not?

Your thoughts?

Hitmaker Polow Da Don talked to our good friend Sandra Rose recently about the much publicized ‘beef’ between R&B starlets Ciara and Keri Hilson.

Polow, real name Jamal Jones, has worked with both singers, producing hits such as Ciara’s ‘Promise’, and much of Hilson’s discography (unsurprising, given that she’s co-signed to his label).

Check out his ‘interesting’ comments regarding the supposedly ‘settled’ dispute, as well as news on Hilson’s 3rd LP, below.

Chris Brown, Ciara and Fabolous were all smiles at the Oklahoma City Thunder vs the New York Knicks basketball game last evening. Look below for more images and pay close attention to Brown’s expression as he watched the cheerleaders perform:

Keri Hilson made a recent promotional appearance on Power 105.1. During her interview, the ‘Breaking Point’ singer was asked to share her thoughts about Ciara’s underwhelming ‘Basic Instinct’ album sales to which she gave a peculiar answer.

Hilson also spoke about why Lil Kim’s verse on ‘Buyyou’ was not chosen and confirmed that the decision had nothing to do with the rapper’s feud with Nicki Minaj. Check out what she had to say below:

R&B vixen Ciara continued along the promotional trail for her ‘Basic Instinct’ LP tonight, appearing on The Mo’Nique Show. Recorded last week (yet aired tonight), the dynamo performer turned in rousing showings of singles ‘Gimmie Dat’ and ‘Ride’. In the case of the latter, the performance served as her first televised rendition of the Urban smash.

It’s official: Ciara has bombed. The ‘Gimme Dat’ performers new album, ‘Basic Instinct’, will debut on the Billboard 200 this week with a lowly 37,940 units sold, entering the lineup at #43. This will be Ciara’s lowest debut in her career to date.

On the other hand, Michael Jackson’s ‘Michael’ LP will nab the #3 spot with 224,910 copies sold. While it is not enough to outsell Susan Boyle or Taylor Swift, the record will have have the highest entry of any Urban release this week.

Diddy-Dirty Money also received a special gift from Santa Claus. The trio’s ‘Last Train To Paris’ will enter the Billboard 200 at #10 with 87,380 units, exceeding all expectations, thanks to massive promotion in the last 7 days. The record did not outsell R. Kelly’s ‘Love Letter’, however, as the R&B King’s album will grab the #6 spot with 150,405 in sales.

On the contrary, Tank was not so lucky as his album will debut at #38 with 41,181 units sold. Still, the R&B crooner has managed to outsell both Ciara and Kandi, the latter of whom has missed the top 50 completely with her ‘Kandi Koated’ release. Ho ho no.

Following her epic showing on Ellen earlier this week, Ciara brought her stage-show spectacle to the ‘Lopez Tonight’ stage moments ago. The 25 year old turned in another high octane performance of ‘Gimmie Dat’.

Ciara has just released yet another batch of promo pics to support her recently released ‘Basic Instinct’ album. Look below for more shots via Ultimate-Ciara:

With her new album, ‘Basic Instinct’, on course to sell an underwhelming 35-40k in its 1st week, Ciara has ironically addressed the issue of low album sales with the Associated Press. The ‘Gimme Dat’ performer denounced the importance of record sales, claiming that they are “becoming smaller fraction of branding”.

See what Ciara had to say about the issue below:

Undeterred by the sales estimates of her ‘Basic Instinct’ LP, Ciara continued along the promotional trail tonight, stopping by E!’s ‘Chelsea Lately’ for a chat.

A somewhat more relaxed Ciara spoke to host Chelsea Handler about many a topic including BET’s banning of the ‘Ride’ video, competition between her and other female acts, the album, and more.

Ciara better backbend over a church alter and pray for a Christmas miracle because ‘Basic Instinct’ is set to bomb. The record is predicted to sell only a disappointing 35-40k within the next 7 days. This means that it will debut with less than half of the underwhelming 81k with which ‘Fantasy Ride’ entered the tally last year.

Still, Ciara isn’t the only act preparing to receive a lump of coal this Christmas. Diddy-Dirty Money’ Last Train To Paris’ is primed to sell only 60-65k despite a string of high profile appearances on ‘The View’, ‘Saturday Night Live’, and ‘American Idol’.

R. Kelly, however,  has no such worries. The R&B titan’s ‘Love Letter’ is on course to sell an impressive 150-160k with its debut, giving him the 2nd highest new entry position among Urban artists on next week’s lineup.

Another R&B crooner who is set to exceed expectations is Tank whose ‘Now or Never’ LP is scheduled to sell 40-45k. Yet, all pale in comparison to Michael Jackson’s ‘Michael’ LP which is expected to sell 225-250k.

There is no word on Kandi’s ‘Kandi Koated’. Ouch.
