I hope you know that if you listen to any one of the DC girls albums they aren’t strictly singing R&B. There is pop, dance and R&B on their albums and gospel (michelle). Kelly isn’t abandoning anyone. She’s evolving and if you are a fan you would allow her to grow and support her. I know I am. I have actually liked all the snippets and songs so far. I LOVE the new remix to commander that Rico Love showed.

the result? an epic guitar ballad that stands head and sholders above other pop or R&B/bass driven ballads such as “Happy”. deffo a winner but sounds more like a movie theme or album cut. not sure its a good single choice.

Beyonce and Kelly and the other original DC members voice coach said years ago, in S2S magazine that Kelly actually as a voice like Mariah Carey. So, why is anyone surprised that the girl can actually sing with force?
And as far as Kelly abadoning her black audience, I’m black and I say good for her. Black audiences are stuck in whatever music urban radio stations play. So, if that means that she will have to crossover like Janet did than good for her.
I don’t understand why it has to be that Kelly Rowland or any other Black artist that does not stick with singing/rapping about getting money, having s**, or beating someone down is abandoning their Black audience! That is so racist music is music and Kelly realizes that and she is trying to get her urban fanbase to experience the greatness of music worldwide. It sounds good. I can’t wait for her album. As stated in earlier posts race shouldn’t be put on music. Kelly is doing Kelly and what she likes and sounds good doing so. I like it and commander and I’m black. You have to be open to different music. I’m actually tired of most the music that’s being played on the R&B/hip hop stations. Most of them are talking about the same thing w/ a different beat. I’m ready for Kelly and I’m glad she is switching it up.
