Me too. I think she went the generic-pop route on purpose to get her foot in the door first, and it has worked perfectly. Now that she has clout, she can go do whatever she wants without her record label telling her “no”, cause she’s their biggest breadwinner right now.

Gaga better had won EVERY SINGLE award she was nominated for last night cause afterall that is the only condolence & praise she truly deserves. I knew it was going to be ‘BNorn This Way’ literally MONTHS ago, in an interview with Ryan Seacrest she was asked what she’d call her “hypothetical autobiography”, and she said she’d called it ‘Born This Way’.
From then on it was obvious, what with the tatoo arrangements and everything.
Can’t say I’m impressed, she is without doubt one of the talents of our generation, but it’s just an album NAME, people., I might go all stan-like with some new material, but for now, this isn’t a great surprise.

@S***- Was that long speech was suppose to convince me otherwise? You don’t need to like her for her to be an icon. I’m not a Gaga stan, but at least I can give credit where it is due. You know you’re an icon when you have as much haters as you do lovers. The fact is she is controversial and talked about by EVERYONE. There is no other artist of our day that has been able to do the center of all music talk after one album. You can either hate or love her, but my point is there are millions of people buying her music and watching her videos. She has one of the most die hard fan bases. As far as her appealing to the gay community, who fucken cares? This is 2010!!! This isn’t any different from Beyonce appealing to the mainly African American community. That doesn’t mean Gaga doesn’t have straight supporters, or Beyonce has other supporters from other ethnic groups. Don’t be so petty as to include race or orientation in music, not only is it unattractive, but quite frankly makes you sound ignorant as f***.

Beyonce doesn’t appeal to just the black community. A lot of her songs on I AM side of her CD weren’t even urban. And she obviously appeals to everyone since her concerts are usually very diverse and she can tour all around Europe.
