Keri Hilson visited ‘The Ellen Degeneres Show’ today. The singer/songwriter performed ‘Pretty Girl Rock’ from her new album, ‘No Boys Allowed’, which debuted at #11 on the Billboard 200 by selling 102k copies when released in December. Check out Hilson’s performance below:
This was yet another solid performance by Hilson. However, it may be time for her to release a new single. ‘Pretty Girl Rock’ peaked at #31 on the Billboard Hot 100 and none of her other records managed to enter the chart at all. Certainly, considering the current slow sales of ‘No Boys Allowed’, it would be wise to put forward a new single.

um, the song is still climbing up on the r&b/hip-hop chart, so i don’t see why she should stop promoting it. i think it can break top 5 (it’s at number 6 now).
Although this is a great song, I’d rather hear it from someone else like Rihanna or something.

This was a great performance. I really have to give it to her promotional team, management, and label. This record has sold way more than it should have considering that none of the singles were successful at first, but this promo has been amazing.

Ya’ll are kidding me right? I am not even a Keri Hilson fan and I will say that this performance oozes of confidence and excitement. The song is a hit! Say what you want but, had your fave been singing this same song, ya’ll would be all over it. What is really disturbing to me is that people can have a problem with Keri singing a song called “Pretty Girl Rock” but, not have a problem with someone older than her singing “if you like it then you shoulda put a ring on it”…..HYPOCRITICAL MUCH? This performance was so damn dull! Keri’s voice annoys me. It’s too high and it seems like she’s trying to sound like she can sing all cute when she can’t. She’s definitely not a vocalist. The dancing was wack… any female can move her arms, legs, and hips. This single is so damn old and TGJ, why do you insist on making fun of Rihanna sales or not mentioning them, and making fun of Dirty Money’s and Keyshia Cole’s low sales but haven’t brought up the fact that this big nosed b**** has only sold 150,00 COPIES OF “NO BOYS ALLOWED?” Do you have a thing for her because she deserves all the shade in the world. Yea but 31 on the Billboard aint sh**, especially for such a pop inspired single like this and 150,000 copies has me LMMAO! What a flop?

This was a good performance. She has really stepped her game up perfromance wise The choreogrpahy was cute, she never dances hard, but it fits the song. However her wardrobe was questionable and her dancers looked ridiculous! Like she just picked them up off the street. *shrugs* I also hate it when she mixes in that ‘Beautfiul’ cover by James Blunt. It doesn’t suit her voice to me. *shrugs*
Although I do like this song, I really think she should release a new single ASAP and start promoting that! Her and her team have been promoting the hell out of this album, I got to give it to them, but since ‘Pretty Girl Rock’ is failing to climb the Hot 100, she should have released her next single by now. Her album has done pretty good considering she had no hit singles. But people aren’t gonna know how good the album is if she doesn’t get more material out.
I think she has a lot of potential singles. I’m glad ‘One Night Stand’ is getting single treatment. I LOVE that one! Her a CB’s harmonizing on the chorus is amazing! I think it is a good choice and I am sure that her and her team want to capitalize off of Breezy’s shine right now! Not a bad idea! Plus it’s more promo for my boy!
‘Toy Soldier’ and ‘Lose Control’ are also really good choices. Her album is full of really great songs with single potential. Instead of wasting money on that horrible ass video for that weak single ‘The Way You Love Me’ they could have released ‘Lose Control’ as her third single and shot a hot video for that instead. That would have did well on the Hot 100 and then she could have released ‘One Night Stand’ as her fourth single for the r&b charts. *sighs* Oh well.
I remember Polow giving an interview saying that she is working on new material now so sadly I do think that she is going to be moving on after her third single with Breezy. Sucks cause it was a really good album full of hits.

I’m going to get her album today actually! So thats one more sold. What I like about keri is her will to succeed and she is improving. Plus pretty girl rock is a feel good song for me. She did have a couple misteps career wise, everyone has an opinion, but whatever…I want to support her and enjoy this music.
