From joining Jay Z and Will Smith in launching ‘Fela: The Musical‘ to becoming the face of her mother’s ‘House Of Dereon‘ clothing line and her own line of fragrances.
Now the songstress has confessed what she hopes to achieve in the near future. Find out exactly what that is below…
She revealed:
I am still working on balance and still growing. I am starting my company, my label. I want to create a boy band. I want to continue to produce and do documentaries and music videos. I eventually want to start directing for other artists. Once I know that I have my stuff together and I trust that, I can do it for other artists.
I see so many male artists building these empires and passing their knowledge on to other artists and development. I see myself doing the same thing and hopefully other younger artists when they grow up and they have been around for 15, 20 years, they can do the same thing.
Already recognized by many of her fans as a shrewd and in control business woman, it will be interesting to see how Mrs. Carter’s empire expands in coming years.
For if experience is indeed the best teacher, who better to head a label than a woman who has spent the last fifteen years working both at the forefront and behind the scenes of an ever changing media industry.
An industry which has always rewarded musicians for branching out into business.
The news of these new ventures will be sure to change many things, but more interestingly – what will the birthing of her own record label mean for her relationship with Sony Music?

I don’t think that the US is into boy bands anymore. And if she wants to do a Label she should get her father a role as he is the one who created DC. No matter how shady Mathew is he knows his business and managed DC and Beyonce for so many years.
She may have good intentions but her group will FLOP and FLOP HARD. I mean let’s look at it Michael Jackson – Brownstone, Madonna – Cleopatra , Mariah Carey – Allure, Whitney Houston – Sunday, Prince – Vanity 6. ALL FLOPS and Bey will follow the same path. This is actually quite impressive. Usually Beyonce is pretty predictable, but this is something I never would have expected from her. Kudos to her.

Im so glad she has her own production company. it’s afforded her alot more control compared to other artists. Im sure the company was some way financially involved in the production all the unreleased videos from this era
Interesting she said boy band and not girls. I don’t see it happening, there hasn’t really been a successful ongoing band launch from any one and MANY folks have tried. The trouble is managing is a full time job, singers/rappers take it on thinking they can tack it onto their wall of achievement and usually their careers take a backseat, the new group suffers from neglect and eventually disbands disappears.
As for directing, music videos, and documentaries…no offense but Beyonce struggles with creativity in her own name and brand. You have to be VERY creative to do those things and you can’t constantly be inspired by YouTube vids and contacting other people to replicate someone else’s art. I think she’ll give it her best shot but I don’t see it going anywhere.
Very big dreams but…Beyonce found a very successful niche for herself, she’s good at it and there’s a reason for that. She should stick to that since she’s realized from this era running the show BEHIND the scenes and orchestrating everything is incredibly difficult and requires skill.

Good interview. It sounds like she is thinking of the future. Things that she wants to accomplish 5 to 10 years down the road as she builds her family with Joe Camel. It’s obvious she is a workaholic but I really do think she is gonna slow down after her baby is born, she may even be planning on having more children. I think she’s thinking of ways to keep her empire going and the cash flow coming in as she slows down herself.
I think it’s great she wants to ‘build her empire’ (even though I think her empire right now is pretty damn impressive) and start branching out in other avenues, but I don’t really know if the whole ‘boy band’ thing will work. I mean, IMO ‘boy bands’ were just a fad of the late 90’s & early 2000’s. Even if they were really succesful it never last more than 6 years or so. N Sync, Backstreet Boys, 98 degrees, etc. none of them ever even made it 10 years! Mostly because they were ‘manufactured’. They were brought together by some greedy record exec, told what to sing, how to dress and act. It was all a so cheesy and gimmicky that would only last for so long.
Maybe due to the lack of ‘boy bands’ is the reason why she wants to try to create one. I would hope it hope it would be an r&b type group, but when you hear the words ‘boy band’ you immediately think pop. I guess we will see what she comes up with whenever she comes up with it.
I can’t really see her directing videos either. *shrugs*
Either way it will be very interesting to see where her career goes after she has her baby.
