It was better than the disaster that was her XF USA performance, that’s for sure 😉 It was decent.AMAZING staging, AMAZING concept, AMAZING dancers, AMAZING outifts and AMAZING effects…what’s missing? 😛 Kidding aside, she had some energy and an upbeat song like WFL needs mostly good energy to be showcased rather than vocal talent (which she obviously doesn’t possess, talking from hands-on experience 😉 ) or precise dance steps (which she kind of did at the end, but they were well hidden by the lighting and the camera angles).
At least she is getting better.2 years ago when I saw her live she was rubbish, couldn’t sing, couldn’t dance, couldn’t even stand properly on stage, but now she’s grown and developped into a tolerable performer.If she can please her fans, then it’s ok.
I liked it. No, her vocal delivery was not on point and the backing track kind of ruined it.. But she looked amazing. I love the outfit and what they did with the stage. I’m really liking this new era. She has improved her stage presence immensely and I just love how her voice sounds… Gritty, very raw! I just love how she’s started to dance on stage; It makes her performances so much more exciting. She definitely commanded that stage and all eyes were on her.. That’s the important thing, and I think she did a good job performing the song.
She will debut at number one in the UK no doubt.

But you can clearly hear her voice and can tell she was singing live and the vocals were good. The jumping up and down was embarrassing to watch another artist would used those parts as a dance break and danced. It just exposed her as an non dancer and non entertainer.

This wasn´t that bad. Yes, she does need to improve her vocals and stage presence, but I find this way more entertaining than the US performance. And for those who say she has no talent, I somewhat of agree with you, however, what about the American Idol performance or the AOL sessions? Sure, she does not have the voice many of us would like to hear, but at least she tries. She has talent, limited, capped or whatever you would like to call it, the disappointment lies that she is not able show it all times or perhaps she es too lazy to do so. Nevertheless, for me, her voice sounds better when she sings caribbean tunes or in ballads.

This is just what happens when mediocrity is not only accepted but embraced and treated as though it isn’t a big deal. Every performer should be skilled at SOMETHING. If you can’t sing, you better be able to command a stage…if you can’t command a stage, then you better be able to sing. Rihanna can’t seem to do either. So really, I don’t get what she’s good for. The same team that outfiting her with hit songs can find some other girl off the street and do the same thing for her. Rihanna is not special or unique. She’s trite and the personification of everything that’s ever been wrong with the music business.
