It’s certainly been a game of musical chairs (literally) since X Factor USA’s Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger found themselves axed from the judges panel. With rumors swirling at who would be the ladies’ replacements, no two names have been mentioned more than vocal powerhouses Mariah Carey and Beyonce. Both of whom have made headlines in the last year for new additions to their families, the mommy musicians have had the industry abuzz with news of Cowell’s interest in their seating on the judges row.
As reports began to surface that Simon offered the ‘Upgrade U’ diva $100 million dollars (some reports claiming $500 million) just to guest the judges bench and Nick Cannon reportedly slamming suggestions of wife Mariah’s involvement, the X Factor craftsman has finally decided to come forth to set the record straight on both ladies’ potential involvement on the show.

Quite obvious, simon is looking for someone who is cheap enough yet name recognition enough to do the show… Bottomline the show sucks like Idol because they they make funny gag contestants who cant sing s*** to make wise crack auditions. That’s lame and only works for a several times. The Voice doesnt have that crapola installed. They get right to business with good singers up front. They make the contestants the star of the show whereas Idol and xfactor make the judges the stars and uses contestants for gags to spike up ratings. That always fails cause the viewers arent stupid like when Idol came out 10yrs ago. The Voice bypasses all that nonsense.

All his emphasis are on judges for the benefit of ratings hence more money for him. Judges should be able to do their job w/o pressure of drummin in ratings. If it’s good people will watch. Simon will never get Mariah she’s too important in the business to agree to judge his crappy talent show. besides she’s also to kind to people to be honest when somebody sucks at singing and cut them off. plus right now she’s got to many other important things on her plate to devoted the time needed to a job like that chief among them is motherhood she doesn’t want her kids calling their nannies mom like Angelina Jolie’s children do

Paula wrote the book on that. Mariah and Beyonce hard at work at their next smash hit albums, not to mention their babies!! No Chance.

I have not watched that show yet but every time I go to the gym they have it on one of the tvs. I think the show is good for the UK but bringing the same show to the US it kind of like putting out a copycat show. Since when are getting a group of judges a big issue or a big challenge? Obviously the rumor droppings were publicity stints that were fails. It would be better if they were attempting to fill a void in tv shows…what I mean is that the Voice and American already have the reality music competition show formats covered so there is not a void for X Factor to fill. Maybe with a different concept and something brand new for the US audience another type of show would be a success.

people are saying its a downgrade for mariah but what else is she doing right now, jenny craig, selling stuff on HSN? she is at a crossroads in her career and needs all the promo she can get to get back on radio and sell some records and X-factor could do that for her. I dont think Hollywood is banging on her door with offers
I honestly think that Toni Braxton should join X-Factor. Toni helped L.A. Reid earn the title of super producer when she became the “First Lady of LaFace”, his former record label with singer Babyface. She is also testimony to the success that the competitors could achieve with L.A. Reid since the winner will sign to his label, Epic Records. Additionally, X-Factor is missing that spark between the judges that American Idol had and The Voice has. Toni could bring it. She has had some well publicized disputes with L.A. Reid in the past. She sued LaFace Records in the late 90s and then during her second pregnancy she had a huge falling out with L.A. after leaving his label and they have just come back to speaking terms. This could make for great drama and lots of competitive tension between the two.
