Hard at work on her 4th studio album, Kelly Rowland ensures she remains present in the Urban arena by appearing on the soundtrack to one of Black Hollywood’s biggest movies – ‘Think Like A Man’.
The ‘Motivation’ singer teams up with RCA’s Bei Major and Future for ’Need A Reason’.
Take a listen after the jump…
Via Essence:
From the breezy production, to Rowland’s effortless glide across it, this is a solid slow jam. We like. Do you?

I like it a lot. It’s very listenable. At first I was iffy about the cliche rap guest, but as the song went on it didn’t matter. Very good effort. I’m glad Kelly is doing R&B and gave up that ridiculous pursuit of corny dance and electro-pop. That type of music is for lesser talents and people with lesser tastes. Too bad Toni didn’t get that.

Alright now, this is what I’m talking about. Seems to me that Kelly is chasing the audience that liked “Motivation” and I think that is the wisest move for her! I am relieved that she left the David Guetta/When Love Takes Over/Commander sound behind.

Yea, as an album track, it’s cool. I like it better than Motivation. Only a handful of R&B acts can pull off getting hits that aren’t about sex. Kelly is not one of them. If she’s not grinding and being oversexed, she does not sell in the US.

Wont be listening to it. You only have to read the comments to see she has regressed back to songs about sex.
She’s been marked for greatness for so long only for her to go for instant fame & glory rather than grace & depth. Stole, Heaven & Earth, Dilemma, WLTO, Daylight & Forever & A Day remain her best body of work and not one was about sex.

Kelly songs are not all sex songs, she makes one track about love, then everyone gets pissed off, you people are the same people complain she’s boring, then she does one love making song, then everyone complains, like this girl can’t win!!! Everyone was dissing Motivation when it dropped but when it blew, every who was dissing it were jumping on that song, smh!!! I actually like the song- it’s R&B and not that Euro-pop bullshit that everyone else is doing, Kelly doesn’t need that and alot of artists don’t need that who are well established- Usher and Toni doing the Euro-pop crap. I’m glad Kelly is doing R&B again.

I like the chill and summer vibe of the song. At first I wasn’t going to listen to it given the odd choice of artists featured but surprisingly it works. Yes, it’s another sex song but that is what’s working for her so *shrug* why not.

Sam,
Here’s the latest from the OFFICIAL X-Factor U.K. site regarding Kelly Rowland’s return for the 2012 season: NOT-A-THING..!! Here, “Rowdogs”, have a sniff: http://xfactor.itv.com/2011/news/story/read_kelly-rowland-to-miss-halloween-week_item_100158.htm
Sam, the almost-40-year-old-Kelly Rowland is, I must admit, a unique artist. In these past 3-years being “Team-Breezy”, I’ve learned alot about how the industry works. It is a cruel, foreboding, and unforgiving place..!!
..That said, it amazes me how an artist who has failed as many times as the almost-40-something-year-old Kelly Rowland, can so ably…”fail upwards” in such a graceful, if not mechanized manner. Her solo debut, 2002′s “Simply Deep” was, given the funds lavished upon it, a failure. 2007′s “Ms. Kelly” was a much more pronounced fail and it was the exclamation mark that ended her relationship with Colombia. You see, Sam, labels do not drop an artist only after one “bad” album – especially one with the name recognition that Kelly Rowland has. NO! “Ms. Kelly” exposed the failure that was 2002′s “Simply Deep”.
But what leaves my interest “peaked” is how she managed to worm her way into the better graces of Universal/Motown. Did that X-Factor U.K. gig have something to do with it? Did they see dollar signs after “Commander”?
Sam, I can think of only one artist who has recent failed as badly: Rihanna/ “Rated R”. How can you be the matron saint of the abused, disenfranchised, and abandoned and return such poor numbers is well-beyond me. On strictly a ROI basis, “Rated R” has failed like none other in recent history.
In any case, Sam, someone had post this link to prove that she’s again signed to appear come 2012 X-Factor U.K. uk.omg.yahoo(dotcom)/news/kelly-rowland-return-x-factor-second-year-064324707.html It’s a Yahoo link, but since it’s NOT the “official” X-Factor U.K. site, and since said site mentions nothing on the matter, I think it’s only then prudent to default to the “last word” on the matter: the afore-mentioned OFFICIAL X-Factor U.K. site which has no such information!
Long story short: Kelly Rowland had weekly-access to 12-Million will-and-able U.K./European discretionary-spending consumers and she only moved less-than 150-K “Here I am” units: FAILURE beyond measure..!!

You know XYZ shut the fuck up like really you must be a miserable person or a hateful person smh it amazes me everytime you bring up old shit you always have something negative to say it makes no sense and very childish of you with the whole age comment almost 40 well if she was then she look hella good at some almost 40 why do you care about her career you know I don’t get why I’m replying to you because its not going to make a difference what you say she still making money still making music and their really is nothing you can do about it but hide behind a computer and say stuff that you feel like its hurting someones feeling smh its whatever anyways Love the track she is doing big things with the acting and can’t wait for the next album “Here I Am” loved it

*Meh…* “..Miserable/Hateful/Negative”..?! <–O~o
..That's absurd…!! What an absolutely horrible person you are..!!
"I don’t get why I’m replying to you"
I do; because you know what I'm saying is based totally in truth and love for/of the almost-40-something-year-old Kelly Rowland…!! Truth told, I only want what's best for Kelly, don't you?
Kelly having weekly-access to "12-Million willing-and-able U.K./European discretionary-spending consumers", and then only moving that pathetic 150-K "Here I am" units = Kelly making a complete fool of herself, and NO ONE seems to care…!! I'm only helping her to see what's RALLY happening, while the rest of you continually deceive and lie to her. Kelly deserves better and I'm doing my best FOR HER..!!
That picture above of Kelly is yet ANOTHER prime example of "lying" to Kelly. If TGJ were "real Rowdogs", they'd have used a picture that's based completely in reality, one such as this: http://www.radaronline.com/photos/image/168795/2012/03/stars-reveal-their-cellulite-bikinis-part-two <–What Kelly really looks like. It's an honest, real, and not-photoshopped based-in-actuality representation of…"OUR" Kelly.

I loooove it! Please Kelly release it as a single and give us a video for it as good as the ‘Keep it between us’ video. The only problem is that Kelly is slow with her video release and does not promote her music. She is definitely very talented, forget the hatred on some of the comments on this site. Go Kelly. The song is very catchy. Next time ditch the raping though because we need a comlpete hit without anyone else featuring!
