Last night, in aid of her new album ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded‘, Pop belle Nicki Minaj joined Nokia for the launch of their new Smartphone- the Nokia Lumia 900.
Taking over New York’s Times Square for the evening, Minaj rocked the city with a set of her latest material armed with DJ Diamond Kutz, her hype man Safaree Samuels and ever growing fan base.

What a difference five years can make.
Sure, while her rise to the top was inevitable- courtesy of her airtight marketing strategy- who could have guessed that the girl in the clip below would go on to become a household name, standing alongside Beyonce & Rihanna as one of Pop culture’s reigning women of color.

Everyone has to remember Nicki can’t sing, so don’t judge her singing, she can’t sing so let it go, judge her lyrics and performances, and if you judging that then you can see she is clearly talented, she did a good job! But note I say good job, only a good.

It’s crazy how far Nicki has come in her career. I remember back in 09 I watched a video where she said she would love to collab with Madonna. I was like no way! Madge would never have another artist on her song let alone a female rapper! 3 years later Nicki & Madge are performing at the Superbowl. Nicki will never please everyone and like she said herself, the people who don’t understand her will never understand her. The critics can say whatever they want because she doesn’t do what she loves to do for them. At the end of the day the girl is winning. The list of everything she has accomplished is amazing.

Yes, I’m beginning to think @XYZ is right about Nicki’s star continuing to shine bright! Moving 300k in the UK alone is pretty impressive for a sophmore CD. I still love me some Lil Kim but I have to give her credit. The US media has really been down on her since that God awful Grammy performance. It seems inspite of the no good media’s BS, she seems to still be rockin’ strong!
