Destiny’s Child are back! Well…kinda, if you’re not big on technicalities.
Today, 9 years after the release of their last studio album ‘Destiny Fulfilled’, Mathew’s girls have revealed the release date for a collection of previously unreleased cuts.
Details below…
Named ‘Love Songs’, the collection will hit outlets on January 29th and will feature one brand spanking new song named ‘Nuclear’.
Tying up any ‘loose ends’ the trio had with the folk over Columbia Records, the project will feature romantic jams recorded between 1997 and 2004, and precedes the release of new solo albums by each member, with Beyonce kicking things off with a new single due out in a matter of days- if reports are to believed.

There is no buzz for beypnce single. There short buzz was the GQ cover, which mainly saw he getting dissed, not once did anyone ( GP ) mention her new single, album or even SB. Only blacks talk about that. The whites do not seem to know – or care.

In reference to all the HATE, the release of this album is only due to the group trying to fufill their requirements to the label in terms of their contract. After this album is released this will fulfill all requirements that the group “Destinys Child” has to Columbia. This will release them as a group from their contract. Its not a ploy to promote beyonce, she doesnt need help with that. As you can see shes everywhere right now in terms of that. Essencially it is in the best interest of all of the girls since they wish to no longer go on as a group and term their standing with Columbia. Its all business and since Mathew is technically still management for the group he is fulfilling his obligations. Its simple as that its really nothing more to it. So since they are not going to record new material they will continue to release technically new material that was recorded years ago but was never released to the public.

Personally I think they could happen again if they done a proper album with promotion. Destiny Fulfilled did well after a hatius. Though your right in the cases like Michael Jackson. Even if he was still alive I doubt he would’ve been getting Number 1′s all around the world.

Did you see them sales for Fulfilled? That’s when their candle was deeming and for them to try to rebirth a dying genre surely won’t work in their favor. The industry has changed and people need to accept that. There will never be another “Writing’s on the Wall” period. I’d rather them keep their crowns then make themselves look foolish with poor sales with a new album like so many other artists who don’t know when to hang it up.

Did you see the chart positions of the album and it’s singles? It was a success and so was their last compilation. I’m sure if they did comeback their sound would be updated and full of crossover hits for urban and pop radio. Plus I doubt it will flop hard because Beyoncé’s still got her superstar status and Kelly’s successfully keeping that ‘dying genre’ a float. Maybe the original song on this album is a test run to see if it could work. Anyways they’ve said they won’t ever be getting back together only to perform so you don’t have to worry about them looking like fools if it doesn’t sell.

I’m only interested if they’re going to get back together properly. Until then Beyoncé better release some new solo material to perform at the Superbowl. Actually, they don’t. Labels can release this kind of material without the artists’ permission. According to P!nk, LaFace started to work on her greatest hits album without her consent. She didn’t want to have a compilation album, but there was nothing that she could do to stop them.

I think the girls will reunite but in order to cut all ties with Matthew they probably have to dissolve their contract with Columbia first.
They will probably do a huge 2 album/tour deal with Live Nation in 2014 or sometime later on their own terms.
