Watch: Elijah Blake – ‘XOX (Lyric Video)’

Watch: Elijah Blake XOX (Lyric Video)

As the world of Pop falls deeper into 2013, it’s clear to see that this year will provide no shortage of hotly anticipated music.

Of course, there’s Beyonce‘s fifth studio album, Justin Timberlake‘s third LP and Britney Spears‘ eighth, and now- in serving as one of the year’s newcomers- Elijah Blake readies the release of his debut effort, following the launch of ‘Bijoux 22‘ last year.

So, as to oil his machine before setting its wheels in motion, he releases the lyric video for his single ‘XOX’, featuring ‘Electric Circus‘ Rapper Common.

Enjoy below…

The video’s arrival came days before Marsha Ambrosius’Cold War’- which he penned alongside Diplo- saw its own video unveiled here, and weeks after he scored multiple Grammy nominations for his work on Usher‘s Hot 100 smash ‘Climax’ and Rihanna‘s #1 album, ‘Unapologetic‘.

Better than Miguel. Worse Than Drake.

I like him, but he isn’t as innovative as Miguel. Elijah is a singer. Drake isn’t.

I hear that, but Miguel’s voice is much better, it’s just that his music isn’t as good as E’s.

You b****** are confused. Miguel and Elijah are like apples and oranges. The one Elijah should be worried about is Francine because they sound so alike. I like him but he’ll never be on Mig’s level.

Right Miguel is more alternative R&B, and Elijah is more R&B with a twist, I guess? But his music is catchier than Franks, and he’s a better vocalist. So Elijah > Frank IN MY OPINION!

This is one of the only cats i can listen to without feeling some kind of way. Most of these randb n***** stay on some fake bravado s*** but I like the understated flow Drizzy and this one gives off. Not conceited.

Didn’t want to get involved in the debate above so i’ll just say this. Miguel has his own thing, Bruno has his own thing, Drake has his own thing and Frank has his own thing and Elijah has his too. I’m just happy that we’re in place that the competition between the new boys is based on their talent and music and not their wigs and singles charts like it is with the girls.

I think his style is similar to Miguel’s style in All I Want Is You. His falsetto is also similar to Migurl’s and Franks. His style barely touches Franks in
Nostalgia Ultra. his lyrical ability is typical to modern
R&B. His production is so wavy, you could drown in it.
