Yeah, congratulations on that one too. I mean, you can definitely hear that she worked hard on that. I think she just needs better A&R-ing… the voice is so much better, the look is almost there, it’s just the music and fine tuning that styling and image. I dunno

Just because you can hit the notes doesn’t necessarily make you a good/great singer. Ashanti is a prime example.
Some part of me thinks she needs to get Murder Inc back. If she keeps her vocals and allows for a real label to train her to being iconic and instead of underrated she would do wonders. This tracks lyrics have me on lock but the vocal performance literally had me disapproving it. I will purchase the album but in hopes that other tracks are worth spreading the word of this Written artist. But on a scale this is a C+
Ashanti Giiiiiirl — You sayed with dem vocals… This is the best she has ever ever ever sounded. I almost thought she was lip syncing. She sounded just like the record. Had she been singing like this from the beginning, she probably would have been on top for a little longer. And I actually like the song, now that I have heard her do it live. Maybe if she keeps giving good vocal performances, on her next album people will pay a little more attention. My suggestion to you Shani, is to go with a Major label. that is your best bet of getting back on top

Solid Performance. It cant be denied that her vocals are finally on the level they should be. I’m glad to see she is still grinding and fighting. At the end of the day, the struggle makes you who you are and if she just ensures the material on her album will be adequate for listeners, she will do fine. All it takes is the right single.
