Watch: Demi Lovato Covers Rihanna’s ‘Stay’

Published: Friday 21st Jun 2013 by David

The B96 Pepsi Summer Smash kicked off in Chicago last week, welcoming ‘X Factor USA’ judge Demi Lovato to stand as one of its many performers.

On the night, the ‘Heart Attack‘ entertainer performed a cover of Rihanna‘s Pop classic ‘Stay‘.

While impressive on a vocal front, her take on the song saw her bring nothing original to the song…even going as far mimic the facial expressions and gestures made by the entertainer when serving it live.

However, there’s no taking away from the gem that is Demi’s voice.

So check it out below and let us know what you think!

Part of the package. I first commented on the voice (which is most important).

I knew she would try to scream some part at the end. Lol. Her voice is too big for this song so makes sense.

She did good in the beginning but the song dosen’t call for all that screaming she just lost control in the end. She wanted her range to show bad..Jennifer Hudson mode…SMH

In my eyes you will always remain a FLOP!! You don’t see Taylor Swift or Miley Cyrus covering for other artists songs which are currently dominating charts. Instead of saving your flop single “HeartAttack” you busy promoting Rihanna trying to get her fans to buy your flop single. Desperate bitchs sounds horrible.
    Taylor Legendary Swift would never
    Taylor Swift>>>>All Disney Girls combined

and this is why Rihanna is RIHANNA!!!!! Her voice is one of a kind and most can’t pull off her songs. Yes, Rihanna is a lazy performer at times (if not most of the time…) But her voice is unmatched and THAT’S why I love Rih. It’s not a team making these hits for Rih, it’s Rih making these songs into hits. (Look at Wale’s Bad.)

Well seeing that Rihanna does the same exact movements everytime she performs this song,I’m sure those movements are just a natural thing when performing this song. just like with any other rihanna song, or her kidz bop ass performances

Its great how all the younger generation of artist (Demi, Selena, Miley, Ariana etc.) are inspired by Rihanna HEAVILY yet while she is still dominating. Queen Rihanna, even has a pop legend like Kylie Minogue going to her DWT shows (not one show) but MULTIPLE stanning DOWNE.

I fail to see what is so impressive about her voice. Its overrated in my opinion. Like Kelly Clarkson without the control and range.
