Word has it the recording of Rihanna‘s eighth album has been anything but smooth, hence the myriad of delays that have plagued the project.
However, it seems the star may have found her musical knight in shining armour in the form of Roc Nation comrade – Kanye West.

While arriving on the red carpet at last night’s Grammy Awards, the rapper revealed that he is not only working on his own new music, but is also serving as the Executive Producer on Rih’s.
When pressed for a release date by host Ryan Seacrest Yeezy was coy, but appeared enthused.

Theoretically, this could be exactly what the LP needs. A genuine, eclectic, and progressive talent helping shape its sound and lyrical content.
However, we’re not yet “sold”.
‘FourFiveSeconds’ is authentically terrible and, if its any indicator of what’s to come, this may pan out as one those projects that read well on paper yet doesn’t deliver in reality.
The song’s all around air of “try hard” is alarming because that has never been Rihanna’s core proposition. Sure her talent is a big ball of basic, however she’s succeeded by smartly bouncing from one trend to the next and hitting home runs in the process. Trying to become an “artiste” at this junction (or the muse for one) is at best overly ambitious and more realistically just not her calling.
That said, being the fair and unbiased site we are, we’ll wait to hear more before judging.
